Twix Aki Racing team (TART) are able to reveal they will keep their title sponsor and team name for 2016 after a stunning 2015 and second in the FGP championship.

The team are ready to announce their 2016 FGP team early this season after a settled winter. Last year was a tremendous season for TART but due to identical line ups to Henners F1 we narrowly missed out on our first Championship.

Since entering as Aki Racing Team in 2012 and achieving a solid 32nd out of 55 team aimed high for 2013, but fell short as lack of sponsorship saw the team finish 43rd of 46 in 2013. So for 2014 the team signed a major sponsor in the shape of Hedgehog gutter brush and so became Aki's Hedgehog racing team and with the injection of cash and a team up with Happy Bubble & Ford Focus F1 they finished 15th of 32. For 2015 a major new sponsor was signed as Twix joined the squad. Leaving 2015 as the new branded TART team. This partnership lead to a stunning runners up spot out of 30.
The team hopes its 5th season in FGP can be as good as 2015 and maybe it can be our year.

For 2016 due to a huge wage increase Raikkonen is dropped as is Ericcson who proved a solid driver. However he brings no sponsorship cash into the team.

The team were happy with the Mercedes Chassis, however make a gamble switching to Ferrari power for 2016.

Albeit uncertain how he will go. Alonso is bought in as lead driver, while Gutierrez is roped in as second driver bringing in valuable funds.

The 3rd driver is Pastor Maldonado however we never intend to let him near the car.

The team feels there best race may be Monza.

It's even worse. Maldonado lost his F1 seat :(
Last year was my only chance to run my dream team - but I was denied it by forum's incompetent admin/moderators.

Because I can't have Maldonado as my lead driver I won't take part in FGP.

And thanks for keeping the FGP alive N. Jones. Though I've had mid field teams the last couple years it's all still fun. I'm going to pick another good team this year and shoot for a podium season like I had in 2011. Oh those glory days when F1 wasn't as easy to predict!

N. Jones - Thanks for allowing FGP to continue. I feel the pain of fewer teams as well, and wish more would join.

I suspect my team choices will allow the Merc/Merc combination teams to most likely rule the season, but I have to have some faith in Ferrari as well, in hope that it makes the season more fun to watch. My driver choices also reflect upon the Ferrari power units, as well as hopes that a US based F1 team might actually score a point or more in their rookie season.

Tazzy has Merc/Merc + Rogro 25+15+10

I have Merc/Ferrari + Rogro 25+18+10

Neither of us have Lewis (Pole points) and I'm assuming Rogro got fastest lap as I appear to have an extra point, which Tazzy would get as well.

1st + 2nd + 5th > 1st + 3rd + 5th

Maybe I've got it wrong though. I thought that when it came to chassis and engine the two could not be the same car. But I've been known to screw up the rules before too! :laugh:

If your points breakdown is the correct interpretation of the chassis/engine rules, then it looks like you got shorted a point for fastest lap.

I officially protest. Not the rules, but the fact that Taz always kicked butt in Pickems and is now asserting dominance in FGP early in the season! :laugh: I figured the Merc/Merc combo will come out on top anyway, but now my only hope is to have Lewis and Nico take each other out on track for multiple races!

Am I messing something up or are the results wrong?

Tazzy has Merc/Merc + Rogro 25+15+10

I have Merc/Ferrari + Rogro 25+18+10

Neither of us have Lewis (Pole points) and I'm assuming Rogro got fastest lap as I appear to have an extra point, which Tazzy would get as well.

1st + 2nd + 5th > 1st + 3rd + 5th

No. Mercedes won the race, so 25+25+ whatever Grosjean got = 60.
If Ferrari came in second then 25+18+10 = 53

That is my question, and I'm not making a big deal out of it :)

It does look like I got an extra point. Now that I realize that the single car can be both the engine and chassis first car it looks like Tazio's points are correct. It might be tied to the fact that I have Vandoorne as a reserve, since he did score a point. But as I read the FGP rules I wouldn't get that point unless one of my other drivers didn't race.

And N. Jones, much like Taz, I'm just glad you hooked us up and kept the FGP going! The only reason I really even noticed the point was due to not having correct understanding of the rules after years of participating in FGP! :laugh:

But whatever caused me to get an extra point might impact others, or have a snowball effect through the season with other teams.

I am pretty sure in the overall standings I should have 351 points considering in addition to all Mercedes points I have also got Vandoorne's 1 point.:)

Rules:
Third Drivers: They only score points for your team if one of your other two drivers does not race a grand prix.
For example, My race drivers are Glock & Sutil and my 3rd driver is Kobayashi.
If my 3rd driver replaced Trulli for the Belgium GP and finished 8th I would not receive his points because I still have Glock & Sutil racing in the Belgium GP. Kobayashi would ONLY score points for me in the above example if either Sutil or Glock were also out of the Belgium GP and Kobayashi finished in the points.

Twix Aki Racing Team has is announcing that it will split with its title sponsor at the end of this season. After a glorious second in the championship last season, results have declined and the team announced its disappointment that the partnership has gone as far as it can.

With the poorer results and dwiddling finances after too many parties the TART team may have to tighten its belt for 2017.

Is it just too early for my mind and math, or are the Hungary results still wrong? I'm seeing quite a few that don't add up.

Not a complaint at all, I just want to end up mid pack in a fair fashion. :laugh: But unless I'm screwing something up myself and others seem to have more points than are correct. More than glad to help out if needed, but it seems to me quite a few teams have more points than they earned.

It seemed that multiples of 3 were the factor, so maybe everyone got points for fast lap and qually?

It's such a shame that me being 1st told me immediately that nobody else picked Singapore for a bonus GP! :laugh:

But I'll take it. At least it lofted me up into the top ten and I'm only 100 points behind the leader! So if everyone else's season goes to crap, I still have a chance at a top 9 finish. :rolleyes:

Years ago there was actually a trophy someone made. The idea was that it would change hands yearly. I think it lasted a year or two and the "old" forum FGP died for a while before it was revived. No telling where the trophy landed.

Thank you for hosting this, I enjoy it so much as I'm sure everyone else does. I could do without having to buy lunch year after year; but it's the price I'm wiling to pay for being faithful to the best F1 team in history,...one day McLaren will be on top again and I will get the free lunch...one day!!!!

Aki's Racing teams preparation for the new season is well under way but recent rumours are circulating that 2017 season is going to be cancelled. Rumors persist that Mr Jones has been removed from his position by F1's new owners.

ART spokesperson stated: " We are very much hoping that Mr Jones is not chilling with Mr Ecclestone somewhere and is full ready for launching the 2017 season. We here at ART are making plans although driver confirmation is still a bit behind"
