I have always had a soft spot for the white livery of the Williams. The 2016 carries forward this strong distinctive livery. Shorter nose seem to be the fashion among chassis designers, hence like the Ferrari SF16H, the FW38 has a nose well within the plain of the front wing. The Williams approach to 2016 seem to be about consolidation and stability. The Mercedes engine coupled with an improved Williams chassis may well ensure they retain their 3rd position in 2016. There is suggestion in the new cars released so far, that the gap between Ferrari and Williams may increase this year. But if Williams have resolved their woes of 2015, then they may be strong enough to have a comfortable performance gap between themselves and the Redbull or Toro Rosso with the 2015 Ferrari engine. However, chances are the Force India may emerge as their closest rival this season. The Force India chassis released in the second half of 2015, showed that it had loads of inherent potential yet to be released. Hence a revamp version of this chassis coupled to a 2016 Mercedes engine may spring some surprises this season. [Click on image to enlarge]

Thus, Williams chances of being best of the rest behind Ferrari would depend largely on how well they have resolved the deficiency of the car and its operations. Mistakes is most likely to be more costly this season. The Williams chassis has more historical data than the Force India car, hence you would expect them to have the edge.

I would love to see Williams finally win a race in 2016. They have been rejuvenated in 2014 & 2015 with Mercedes power, but they are still missing that win. Maybe this will be the season they find a way to get one.

Should be 3rd in the title race really.
