I wasn't thinking only about WRC cars. I was thinking more about Group N and 2wd cars (although they aren't a big number in Mexico).

there are 80-100 litres fueltanks for group N cars too.

And a 80k on Sunday, wow this should be the one where final standings will be formed.

Mirek

What is the fuel consumptions of today's WRC?

I think that it's a lot less than with 2.0 WRC cars. I think around 60-80 litres/100km (could be less in Mexico due to low air pressure?). Gr.N consumption on stage may be now bigger than WRC, is it possible Dimitris?

To see Gigi, the reality in Mexico and in many countries is that people die because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time, but talk about violence is widespread everywhere in this country and it is a nightmare to live here is a mistake and I consider it far from reality.

What happened recently in France? and we will not do a campaign to discredit against the Gauls because it was a disgrace. And above all, were people with strange ideas. (I am not to judge them but i not share all what they do, by the way)

Leon and the surrounding area is a people that "in general" treats you well, no matter who and how you are, so we need to remove these alarms

The one which failed scrutineering was from Wevers Sport and the reason was that that there were forbidden number plates for use in Czech republic (the car had Czech export number plates which are used only for export and can not be used for anything at home).

I'm quite sure You wouldn't like to stand at the road on this stage...

tommeke_B
1st March 2016, 19:46
Frankly, I must disagree here. I was in Sardinia '14 near the finish of the very long (59,6 or so km) stage. What we've seen was very spectacular, drivers were getting near the finish and they could push all the way as there was no need to save tyres anymore. Same can be seen for example on Panzerplatte when they're going towards the end of the stage. Of course that's only towards the finish, being anywhere near the start or halfway is going to be less exciting, unless you find some very special place. Multiple length of stage means multiple chance of cancellation for any reason... That's what we unfortunately had in Sardinia after Al-Rahji went off.

Mirek
1st March 2016, 19:52
Tom, You don't have only 25 cars running 80 km long stage or so on Sardinia. I can safely estimate that in Mexico there will be huge gaps between cars and many would not come at all. Altogether it will be very boring show.

Also don't forget to add the altitude. You can't push that hard in such altitude due to brake heating, low power and possible fuel boiling issues. The longer the stage the bigger problems. Works drivers will cope with that but the rest will suffer a lot.

The risk of cancelation is there for sure as well. Big risk.

How much can road sweeping affect Ogier and other front-runners in Mexico?

EstWRC
2nd March 2016, 10:29
i looked at it the other day and not much based on last years stage times and results. Ogier was still the leader after day1, Latvala second with 13 secs behind and Ostberg third with 30 secs behind. They started 1st, 4th and 5th on the road.

b3637853
2nd March 2016, 10:47
Beacuse I remember Ogier moaning before Mexico'15 being the hardest to be first on the road. Obviously stage times didn't show it, but was it because Ogier's brilliant driving or not as bad roads. Anyway now Latvala will start at the end of top10 so if he is in good mindset he could challenge fot the win.

Didn't seem like it in Sweden, moaning about roads that turned out to be the best they've been for years. I'm sure he was the leader
in boycotting the first stage as well.

GravelBen
2nd March 2016, 20:38
To give him some credit, it seemed to me that he was genuinely enjoying the closer competition of Meeke pushing him at Monte and Paddon at Sweden.

I think part of the problem is the wrc media people rabbiting on about it whenever conditions disadvantage him, but they barely even mention when its the other way around (which seems to happen just as often) and he gains from road position.

Even if you had a fuel economy that was 5 times worse than a powerful road car you still would end up with a 50 liter or less fuel tank to run out of fuel... I am quite sure they don't have smaller fuel tanks than 50 liters

Even if you had a fuel economy that was 5 times worse than a powerful road car you still would end up with a 50 liter or less fuel tank to run out of fuel... I am quite sure they don't have smaller fuel tanks than 50 liters

They take times from the same source. But promoter has enough money (some of which is ours) to go to that source and tell them to give right timing or they will take it from someone else. Or depending on how it works do whatever it takes to improve that, but apparently they just don't care.

Thierry started on a good pace but spon after a crest. He hit the front left and couldn't repair the damage. He will restart in Rally 2.
Hyundai did not ask him to attack from the first stage.
Thierry had to much "0 points" this year. Hopefully he can take some points in the end. Certainly for the manufacturers title, it is important.

PROKOP: "The rally is great apart from the jumps. I don't know who's idea it was to make them so steep, but it looks like that's what stopped Guerra and we nearly damaged our car too."

Ogier's first split is just one second faster than his previous one... Has he done some mistake? I thought he would have been very much faster on the second run..
