I was all ready to sit and watch it when I realised Motors weren't showing it :(
I guess they're just showing the races this year.

Susie has done well to finish in 12th :)

Blimey, di Resta qualifies 3rd on his DTM debut and in a 2005 car!

Now that makes it even more impressive!

Yup! Susie's punching above her weight as well by the looks of it. Here's the list of who's in what spec-car:

2007 Mercedes - Green, Hakkinen, Schneider, Spengler
2007 Audi - Kirstensen, Scheider, Ekstrom, Tomczyk
2006 Mercedes - Paffett, Margaritis, la Rosa, Lauda
2006 Audi - Rockenfeller, Luhr, Abt, Premat
2005 Mercedes - Stoddart, di Resta
2005 Audi - Ickx, Carroll

Gary Paffet all the way in 14th place. Surely that is not acceptable for a former champion only a couple of years ago. Fair enough he doesn't the 2007 spec Mercedes but still, he should be doing better.

Does anyone know why he was 14th? Surely he must have had problems or something, I expected him in the top 10?!

Gary just looked off the pace unfortunately. Not the best strategy either which hindered him. A lot of people were shown up by the pace of di Resta. Great race however I'm surprised there hasn't been more talk about it. Susie was extremely lucky not to end up in hospital like Tom and Premat. It appeared to me like Premat knocked her slightly to the right before he ploughed into the side of Kristensen's car. Without that knock I think she would have been the one who collided head on. Glad to hear both the drivers are OK after an awful shunt.

Plenty of different strategies made it very entertaining even if the commentators couldnt quite follow it as usual. The new Merc's look shoddy so we'll see what happens.

That really was an evil looking crash on the first lap, and I'm glad everyone appears to be essentially uninjured. Always fear the worst with big side on impacts, especially driver's side. Says a great deal for the design of the cars, so hats off to everyone involved.

Indeed, nasty accident, really didn't think Tom was going to get away with that, just glad he is OK

Just watched the race - wow... action from start to finish. Very pleased that those involved in the smash on lap 1 are okay...

Damn good run by Di Resta and shame Susie was caught up in the lap 1 incident...

The new 2007-spec Mercedes seems quite bad, actually it's some time ago, when MB has built such an uncompetitive touring car. If such well-known Hockenheim specialists like Green and Schneider are lucky to get into the points, then something is clearly wrong. Even the 2006 car seems better at the moment. From that perspective Spengler made a magnificent effort to fight for podium! But Audi seems to have a good chance of winning the title this year...

As for Paffett, then he hasn't races for more than a year, so it probably takes some time to find the right rhythm in DTM again - he'll become more competitive soon.

And driver of the day - of course Paul di Resta! Last year won the F3 Euroseries in front of Vettel himself and now such an effort from him. He seems to have a lot of potential both in touring cars and open-wheelers.

Yes that was a truly shocking accident. Just glad Tom is ok, and hope Premat is back in DTM soon. Shame that Susie was caught up in it as she had a chance of scoring points, and Di Resta was amazing, future king of DTM perhaps! Was pleased to see Ekstrom back on form after a nightmare 2006 season as well.

It was a terrible accident. Glad Tom is unhurt. Premat has my sympathy. I too suffered a slipped disc last year. Ouch.

Glad the guys are doing OK.

Once again rotten luck with poor Susie, bet she feels more like a crash test dummy rather than a DTM racer. :(
