Was hoping to be in NZ for this event but have too many other commitments.
Will be a cracker of an event. Great roads in the Whangerei area.
Back to sorting my notes for Targa recce next week:)

Can anybody tell me how to get overall leaderboard out of the system? I can see only results in particular stages but not after.

Looks like five rallies in one and no overall list. Weird.

Tidemand very fast.

Rally Whangarei is a few rallies in one. There are separate podiums at the finish too.
Hopefully one day the rules (Fia, NZRC, NZ club championship etc) can be a bit more uniform. A 400 hp 'open class' Skoda Fabia would be interesting, though Tidemand is fast with what he has currently.
Easy win for Tidemand.. good start to his Skoda career.

If you compare below the stage time totals for the APRC event versus the NZRC event, you can see Pontus didn't really beat everyone. In fact Ken Block won by a bit of a margin. Unfortunately his closest rival in the national class rolled out of contention on the second day.
APRC results:
http://www.chrissport.co.nz/results/2015/whangarei/final.htm
NZRC results:
http://www.chrissport.co.nz/results/2015/whangarei/nzrc/final.htm
Pontus Tidemand 2:55:29.4
Ken Block 2:54:53.6
However, Ken's car I imagine runs a fair bit more power than an S2000 car. As he was running under NZ regulations, which essentially allow a 34mm restrictor and 1230kgs, other than that they are pretty open, including ethanol based fuels as well as FIA fuels. So his car probably has a bit of a power advantage?

I think Block had his "america-car", that means a Fiesta WRC with 2 liters Focus-WRC Engine.. So a big advantage with the car and also a good startposition against Pontus who started 2nd on the road first day and first on the road second day.

2016 Rally Queensland has been in the wars today. Firstly BSCC that usually run the event have decided not to run the event saying it wasn't viable for the club. Then a few minutes ago was announced that a a new entity headed by experienced International Clerk of Course Wayne Kenny was going to run the event.
Will be interesting to see how this all works out. Will the BSCC members stay away? Will there be an influx of BMSC members following Wayne? Who knows.
