If Ogi can keep up this pace (0,35 s/km faster), he'll catch Mikkelsen easily.

And again and again Ogier - is lucky. Whole 2 weeks before rally conditions was good for all cars, and when rally starts - conditions good only for first cars. And at Sunday only 46km of disadvantage stages...

Seriously do you really think it matters where Ogier is in the order? 1st or 20th he''s more than able to win. Mikkelsen won't be able to defend a half a minute lead despite being in a Polo and near Ogier in start position. This really does sound like an old LP by Sour Grapes stuck in a groove and revolving at half speed!

Yes, it really my opinion. If Ogier be 20th on road he can't set that times as he set being 2nd on road.
And I didn't think that Mikkelsen is a great driver. It's good no word, but it like Henning. Good but not impressive

Latvala is maybe not very bad but if Mads can't get the podium in Sweden with one of the VW's out of the game I say he is useless.
Paddon is pity once again. Even if he is strictly ordered to bring the car to the finish he can't be at the same pace as Prokop. My mistake to overrate him when driving in SWRC.
Positive thing is Neuville, hope he keeps the momentum.

Hello to everybody!
This year I was able to attend only day 1 of rally Sweden and I have to say it was a good one. Good road conditions despite the mild temperatures and I haven't seen in the past drivers using so much snow banks. We did 4 stages easily (SS3, 4, 6 and 8). Drivers to mention as always all VW drivers spectacular and fast everywhere. I was impressed by Evans as well, very spectacular. Little bit disappointed with Tanak as he usually is more spectacular and faster in times as well. But the biggest disappointment came already on our way home hearing JML has lost 8 min on the last stage.
This time I was actually watching rally with my own eyes rather than through camera screen so have only this little video:

I agree to 100%. In no other sport in the world would a world top competition be affected by a show off class like the "historic rally". Would a champions league game be affected by an all star game of old half blind fotball players? In my opinion it just shows why rallying has a hard time to reach top level sponsors and attract the big audience. It is still just a little hobby sport like cross country skiing or minigolf.
Ridiculous!

Re i20 WRC 2015:
"Just three weeks after the 2014 World Rally Championship finale in the Wales Rally, Hyundai Motorsport is already testing its i20 racer in preparation for its second season in the WRC.
Thierry Neuville, who won the Rally Deutschland last year, and Dani Sordo are the team’s appointed drivers for 2015 and they have already tested the new, substantially revamped version of last year’s car.
“We’ve spent a productive two days in the car this week, keeping us busy as we prepare for next season”, said Neuville. “It’s important to start as early as we can for the first rallies of 2015. We will now continue with our winter program so we can head into the New Year in the best shape.”

Real simple question, its yes or no..have you seen in person what Swedish gravel roads look like after 20-30 powerful cars with real studs pass---when the road surface is not hard frozen?
Very simple question....
Next; can you say RUTS??
You say that it makes difference to anybody to drive on a clean smooth road versus driving whole stages in ruts 1" to 7" deep the whole way.
I don't think I agree.

Quotes after day two of the Rally Sweden
Sébastien Ogier, Volkswagen Polo R WRC #1
“I am really extremely happy with my performance today. Julien and I gave it everything. We have been right on the very limit on every stage. I am now looking forward to tomorrow, as it promises to be one of the most exciting final days in recent times. Compliments to Thierry Neuville, who was equally impressive as my team-mate Andreas Mikkelsen. However, the boys know to look out, as I am here to win!”
Jari-Matti Latvala, Volkswagen Polo R WRC #2
“We tried to use the day to test various set-ups. After ending yesterday well off the pace, today was a good opportunity to do this. Tomorrow we will try to push hard on the Power Stage and pick up a few points towards the Drivers’ Championship. Then it will be a matter of moving on from Sweden and focussing fully on the next challenge in Mexico.”
Andreas Mikkelsen, Volkswagen Polo R WRC #9
“That was an extremely exciting day for us at the Rally Sweden. The situation was rather unusual for us at first: having to defend a lead. I made two mistakes that cost us time in the morning. The biggest of these was spinning on the ‘Vargåsen’ stage after planting the front of our Polo in a snow bank. I had to turn round, which was a complicated procedure and took 20 seconds. However, the afternoon was far more to my liking again, and we made up a lot of time. We made the most of our starting position and there is not much between us and first place. That remains our main goal. The same thing applies tomorrow, as has applied throughout the entire rally for us: flat out, no tactics.”
Jost Capito, Volkswagen Motorsport Director
“A straightforward race for victory, with first and third place separated by just a few seconds – that was rallying at its very best today. The drivers could not employ any tactics today and just had to drive flat out right from the first metre. That is exactly what the spectators want to see. Our pairings of Andreas Mikkelsen / Ola Fløene and Sébastien Ogier / Julien Ingrassia drove fantastically in the battle for the lead. However, Thierry Neuville also deserves great respect, as he produced a fantastic performance. This three-way battle will keep us on the edge of our seats right up until the finish. For me, it is impossible to predict who will win tomorrow. It is like roulette – any number could come up trumps.”

stereotypical of people in authority. Fail to manage their chain of responsibilities and pass their inefficiencies onto others. Paddon is pity once again. Even if he is strictly ordered to bring the car to the finish he can't be at the same pace as Prokop. My mistake to overrate him when driving in SWRC.
A couple of points that you make like to consider
1. Paddon is driving a car that was not set up for him and that he only had a half day test session in the car. He has reported in the NZ news media that the differentials are at a different setting than he is used to and because of that had had to change his driving style as he was experiencing difficulties getting the car to turn in and maintain corner speed and that he has had to be more aggressive in his style to overcome that.
2. Snow and/or ice is a new experience for him and by the end of this event he will have probably doubled the total distance that he has driven on it during his lifetime. He sure has a lot to learn about it for in NZ we don't experience European type winters, our snow is on the mountains and there are no roads there. If we do get an occasional snowfall at lower levels that is anymore than about 25mm it is regarded as a national disaster and close all highways that are affected.
I think that it is too early in the season to pass judgement on any driver for as the year progresses some will grow and some will fall by the wayside. We need to enjoy the moment and the skills they display, they are all special people with a bravery and a talent that we can only admire.

what's the problem ? with turbo?
turbo pressure is limited from regulations to 2,5 bar.
Kubicas fiesta was overboosting (more than 2,5 bar) so they told that to Msport to fix it.
Turbo pressure controlled from ecu(engine control unit)
at ecu only msport have access(ecu is locked, even teams they have buy any fiesta cant change anything at mapping)
its nothing mysterious,can happen.
unlucky Kubica, but at this rally wasn t at any good place.Go figure if he was at some 2nd or 3rd position and had a penalty of 5 minutes.

like Petter and Arne than to hear 2 days of bad comments of the french girl which cannot go fast on first road position.
Ted Ligety comes as 25th on the skiing slope and wins and he has no superior device like Sebastienne or how shall I call her..
Put Neuville and Kubica in Latvala´s and Mikkelsen´s cars and the french girl would no longer be the winner!!!
What is your opinion?

I don't have opinion for last sentences, but agree that historics have it's charm and this 2 events shouldn't mix, because each disturbs the other, so I agree with Ogier as well about this.

Ogier is right... the historics are nice especially in museums and their overweight drivers at the hamburger shop... now if they want to rally instead, they should not mix with the WRC or if they do, they should do it without intrefering with the event.
If you put kubica in the VW it would be a really bad financial choice by VAG and they do not do such things.
Neuville would be interesting on some events but no for the majority of them...
Ogier would still run in circles around them or cause them to crash.

So you don´t appreciate Neuville´s efforts today using a rather old fashioned Hyundai?

his effort is good for sure especially in an event like Sweden but his place is due to other reasons rather than pure driving and speed... if he manages to maintain that tomorrow and not eaten alive by Ogier and mikelssen then i would be really really impressed... and i am very hard to impress.

Ogier is the best rally driver in the world at the moment. He is complete, strong, fast, familiar to all surfaces etc...
Given that this year he is the most boring and whining champion I've ever known.
Read at all his statement from new years eve till today: every single sentence that came out of his mouth was referring to his start position, on every interview, at the end of all the stages, it's something like an obsession.
I mean, he can be right, I agree it's a stupid rule but all this whining and complaining is so much annoying, more if you consider he is the best.
And the ironic side of this story is that on the last 4 world rallys, being first on the road has been a huge advantage for him. In Spain he had clear view instead of dust fog (and he won champioship there), in Galles was clear that the firsts on the road had benefit too, in Monte he put snow on the road and here in Sweden in friday being first was better as well.
I wonder when he will stop whining about it if he will ever do.

I think Ogier will close the gap today, but Neuville is doing an amazing job to be leading. A more convincing performance than his Deutschland win really.
My prediction: Ogier, Neuville, Mikelssen.

No he's not, he's and we are all dealing with a individual who is highly schooled in one tiny area, and because of some horrible malfunction of some parts of his brain, mistakenly thinks that he is brilliant in everything, rather than the one thing he is trained in..
You are a utter failure as a huiman being and disgusting reading your ranting and ravings..
You get a big A+ --we guess---in your little difficult field
You get an F- in you humanity..
Average score......50%,
And in THIS world, not your lab--in this world you are nothing.
Hence the appropriateness of the name NOT. Which should be Naught.
WOW. I think sombody is a bit jelous! This NOT guy is a scientist fighting cancer and you give him an "F- in humanity". Shit man you won't get the nobel prize this year either will you?

It think you're right. Ogier is a master, or he breaks it, or he takes it. It will be even hard for Neuville to keep Mikkelsen behind. Mikkelsen has the superior car, just made too many mistakes, the rally would be in his pocket. Something you hear little Seb never moaning about. ;)
But still: fingers double, triple crossed for my countryman Neuville!!!
(it's a pity the country flags disappeared under the nicknames like in the past on this forum)

I hope Lefèbvre will manage to pass Ählin for the symbolic podium in WRC2(even if not registered)...that would be a fantastic result for a premiere in Sweden :D

Hej Lindström, kan du inte läsa därnere i Småland? titta en gång till.
I give him an A for being a good lab assistant...there are thousands of people in my city alone++some are freinds and customers of mine+---fighting cancer..
So good for them, and good for him...
But those people do not write 90% of what they write, or speak as complete contempt for, as far as we can see from his own words, complete contempt---vanakt, om det ger intrycket bättre---for nearly everybody in this sport..
Try to preciscera det här med olika områder.... In this world.....MOTORSPORT, there is a hierarchy, and those who 90% of the time just call most everybody is the sport....when they are incapable, and never even dared to do even a ''village event'' gets rather ridiculous and silly....
And he does have nothing but contempt for everybody in the sport and here in this little forum...
and many are sick of reading same droning crap for years..
Never humorous, never creative, never thoughtful, just everybody is useless and stupid in the whole rallyworld but him--and he is not part of it.
(Hur vet du han gär ett dug nyttig i labbet? Om han beterer sig på jobbet som har uppträdar här, och varför skulle han vara annat? Då finns en bra chans has är lika bruklösa där som här..)
And your analysis of me being jealous...
Shirley you cannot be serious... I am jealous of nobody, especially a mere lab-rat, gissa igen grabben.

Kubica 5min penalty?
For overboost from the Msport ecu.
Also Ogier should have been excluded for his speeding, in Rally Australia the first offence for speeding is a fine, the second offence is a time penalty and the third exclusion. Why is it different for other World Rallies?

Standing on Värmullsåsen and waiting for it to begin. Access roads in the beginning is so narrow that it is not possible to pass parked cars and very unpleasant officials who said we had to blame ourselves who drive onto the official parking road although they took charge. Was the same last year. Will be interesting to see how to get out from the queue but fortunately, we are far ahead so maybe can go the SS out.
