I'm gay at this track, the rumble strips are too rough.

Dont you mean thats to be off?

simulation mode is the normal mode

pro-simulation mode is the more difficult one (and near impossible on keyboard)

ah..yeah..thats the one..

10 hour work days, and about 6 hours of travelling by car in one weekend..not recommended ;)

Not horribly fond of this venue. Have minimal TRD3 time on it, but lots in GTR. But TRD3 is a bit more forgiving than GTR.

Hoping for another points-paying round in the Opel

(O'sleben is one of the few venues where you have an option)

Not been a good week for practice-work, kids, work, kids (don't get me wrong-I love them both).

Hope to get a session in tonight. Haven't wasted any time with netting a quick lap. Just focusing on race setup alone...

Ran my race. Consistent 1:05s throughout as I thankfully made the right tyre choice. 70% hard.

I had a good race, I should easily be in points if last year was any exception.

I improved my laps times by an average of about a second and half a lap from last year :)

hoping to be around 5-6 place

Completed the Rd at Oschersleben. I was very happy with my qualifying time. The race was difficult - the first 9-10 laps were quite quick & very consistent but the traffic for the last four laps was horrendous - I lost 2-4 secs per lap. The cars were very difficult to overtake & really blocked the racing line in the most vital areas of the track. Still hoping for a podium spot - it depends on how others did in traffic! Vuko Jnr really struggled in the Opel!

wow! you were runnin' in traffic too Peter?

oh. wait. you mean when you were lapping the field. nevermind then.

my sponsorship dollars in this series don't allow for any testing, so I just got in the car, used my baseline set-up, did a few practice laps, and ran the race.

I wualified on the pole and was in the lead, but 2nd place was ready to capitolize on any mistake I might make. So, when I ran wide at one of the turns I moved into second... where I finished the race just a bit ahead of the next pack of cars.

of course, not even beating all the AI cars tells me I finished last probably, but it was quite fun to actually be racing again. I'm so used to the cars on the track being no competition to me.

I think we should run races with the AI customized to challange us more.

just not in this series because I can't even beat them now!

Me too as my computer at home is broken :(

I ran some practice but I need to get the gearing spot-on, then I might break the 1m00 barrier.

Just PM'd my times :)

Qualified well, and started the race on a nice pace - consistent fast laps but by the end a combination of rapidly wearing tyres and traffic meant I was 3-4 seconds a lap slower.

Still have computer problems, we got 'Vista' yesterday but our modem won't install on it

I am evil Homer
24th April 2007, 11:17
You installed Vista??!!! Don't bother - it eats RAM for breakfast and already needs a patch downloaded from the MS website.

XP is just fine, esp to run Office 2007. You can't even run Vista on a laptop unless it has 1GB of memory as standard!

Brown, Jon Brow
24th April 2007, 14:09
We got a brand new PC with Vista, but half the stuff from our old PC isn't compatible with it :( I don't even have internet access.

24th April 2007, 16:01
Oh right...bummer. Dell are offering all their laptops with XP as an option now because so many people complained!!!

If I can find an XP disk set i'll let you know. Vista looks nice, but it just eats too much memory to make it worthwhile. Thanks Micro$oft!

wow..3rd place. Ahead of Peter and Piotr. I guess they were faster over the race, but the traffic hurt them. I only caught the traffic on the last lap..and held back a bit, only cost me a couple of seconds or a bit more.

Very little practice and a difficult venue= a crap performance from us, but I don't envision matters changing anytime soon for my gaming time.

Zandvoort next? It's a glorious track, that we can never get right.....

Brown, Jon Brow
27th April 2007, 22:23
I quite like Zandvoort, it's my 3rd best circuit in the DTM after Hockenheim and Norisring. As Ocshershlebenishblishen :erm: is probably one of my worst tracks I think I could snatch the win there. ;)

harvick#1
27th April 2007, 22:31
I like Brno, that is an awesome track :D

Peter Vuko
27th April 2007, 23:33
A disappointing result! That traffic killed me on the last 4 laps. Obviously Homer & J.B handled the traffic far better. I was doing consistent 02's until I hit traffic on lap 11 & was on course for a low 14m.40 time BUT... Good to see real_illusions pick up a podium spot!

harvick#1
27th April 2007, 23:48
what happened to Steve Vuko, normally hes right with you Peter, odd to see such a slow time from him.

but Homer has the Audi figured out, how bout some help for a fellow Audi Driver :D

racer69
28th April 2007, 07:59
Traffic definatly played a major part in this race, its a hard place to pass, let alone when the slower backmarkers don't want to let you through.....

Brown, Jon Brow
28th April 2007, 12:00
I think that the traffic improved my times slightly because I got some nice slipstreams on the straights. I lapped in consistent 1:02's for around 10 laps and I think my worst lap was maybe a high 1:03 or 1:04 when the tyres were still cold on lap 2.

What tyres did people use? I had 90% on but I think I could get away with 80%

PiotrB
28th April 2007, 20:00
That was not the best race I ever had. I made two mistakes which cost me about 5 seconds. And my tyres 70% seems to be too hard. I should choose 60% compound because my driving style is really easy on tyres. Traffic was of course a problem.

My favourite DTM track is Spa-Francorchamps and Motopark Oschersleben. I like Istanbul and Zandvoort. I don't like Norisring and Brno (Brno beause it's hard to overtake here because of slipstream).
