Truly a sad day for racing enthusiasts the world over. It's safe to say his likes will not be seen again, at the the top levels of motorsport. His success in a car of his own, will ensure his memory in F1 lasts for ever. Even without the MRD page, he would be recalled for his Cooper exploits, the last man to win back to back titles for 26 years. Always a favourite, I was delighted to see him win the very first Canadian Grand Prix for F1 cars.
Often underrated, as a driver, he never was by his peers, and these included Moss, Salvadori, Brooks, Clark, Gurney, Surtees, G. Hill. Rindt, Ickx, Stewart and many others.
RIP Sir Jack

I've only just heard this. Sad sad day for motor racing the world over. Black Jack was certainly unique. His record of winning a championship in his own car will never be duplicated.

I am sure all of our thoughts are with his family.

RIP Sir Jack.

So sad, but what an amazing driver. Winning a Championship in your own car absolutely amazing.

Sad day for F1 and Motorsport in general.

He will forever be remembered.

This photo from 2010 Bahrain is of all the current WC save Raikkonen and Piquet. Sir Jack made the effort to go and we are fortunate for this last group shot. Only WC since would be Vettel.
