The US Congress passes legislation to adopt the Euro as official currency. (http://edition.cnn.com/HaHaYouFellForItYouAprilFool.htm)
The United States of America will become the 19th member to adopt the joint European currency, the Euro, following legislation passed in by Congress this morning. The option to join the Euro stems from provisions in the EU constitution for non-EU states that were members of NATO to join, provided they met certain, stringent fiscal criteria.
