I could get to like this thing if NASCAR would let the teams cool their engines on pit road.

I have to disagree. Guess i'm just a traditionalist. I don't like this new qualifying proceedure. It's just another practice session, makes little sense to me and is boring, watching it on television. I like the old single car qual attempts. I could tell who was fast where, who was losing, who was gainining and get a idea of who was going to run well in the race. This new proceedure has caused me to give up on watching qualifying. I now watch only the final practice session and the race, nothing else. This has lessened my enjoyment of the overall race weekend. :(

I don't like it at all. I watch only to see where everybody shakes out. Qualifying wasn't broken and didn't need "fixing".

 That is suppose to be a thumbs-up icon, guess it's broken. Anyway, I agree with you 100% Sparky!

As long as I'm in complaining mode I'd like to register a complaint about missing smiley emoticons too. Where the heck did they go and why were they removed?

I'm a traditionalist myself. I still groan at green-white-checkered finishes. Single-car qualifying is a tad dry, even for me.

Well Cup practice starts today at Daytona. You know a series has gone stale when the track record is 10 years old, let alone 29 years old like it is at Daytona. The term Speedway is a bit of a farce here.
