Very sad news for the Button family and it appears so unexpected. A thoroughly nice bloke too. An appalling start to Jenson's year sadly.

So sad to hear this, he was a great man. My thought is with Jenson and Family...

Very unfortunate news. JA has a nice article about him -

From everything I've seen he was one of a few genuinely nice guys, seems to have been a friend to pretty much everyone in the paddock, and proof that you don't need to be a piranha to succeed in F1. Sad times for Jenson and the rest of his family

Very bad news to start the day. :( He was always quite a character in the paddock and always there to support his son.

Whenever Jenson Button was on the podium, John Button was always there among the closest fans as Jenson drove into parc ferme. It always warmed my heart to see John Button wrapped in the British flag. Even though John died at a relatively young age (70 is the new 50 now), I think he lived a full life and before he died he was a very proud happy man knowing what his son has accomplished. Rest in peace John.
