It is a real shame because he doesn't need them...

it is one of the reasons why he will never reach the status of Loeb if he is scrared of Latvala.... i mean he is competing in a championship full of never beens and not a single champion and he uses scared dog tactics... when he used that against Loeb i gave him justice in a way because he was trying to beat the best of all times... but now ?? Ogier is head and shoulders above the competition today... no need for such cheap tricks.

Am I missing something? Didn't rallying be all about going as fast as you can without roofing it? And if you are fast enough you do well. Simple. Young drivers these days..........

Actually over the past few events he has appeared to have lost his mojo in finding the balance between bringing the car home against trying to find a competitve performance that didn't involve running out of road!

Current performance would suggest otherwise, Yes Ogier has a level he can step up, but that involves the risk of a DNF which at his current speed isn't going to happen. He probably has the drop on JML on the tarmac events so that's where he'll push.

Use drivers proper names...

That's Gareth Roberts btw. Craig still demonstrates he has speed in ERC and would have won a number of the rounds to date had the Peugeot been adequately engineered. I think that his WRC drives have been on events where his previous academy /S2000 experience wasn't transferrable, I don't think he's lost anything despite the crash.

JML SS11: OK some places Seb is losing time because of the gravel. But also sometimes mentally if you think you will lose time you lose even more. For me I just tried to follow the line and the car was going well. We really took some risks in there and we can't do that all the time. Thanks for Miikka was not telling me to slow down and let me go full attack!

Some interesting memory comes to my mind. I was in Finland only once in 2011. Loeb was starting first making the lines on the road for others. Despite that nobody after him took the same lines.

21 seconds is quite safe in Finland... It cannot be covered without some risks and usually an accident here equals retirement and no super rally, my guess is Ogier will just create a safe margin against Meeke on the 1st loop and then just cruise. It would not be wise for him to try and beat Latvala on his home event...

What I don't like about Ogier is that it's always fault of somebody/something else when he is not wining. He never admits that his competitors did better job. He is the best anyway and he doesn't need to downplay the achievements of others to his bad luck..

That's the difference between a man and a boy...He's a good driver...But maybe not so good a man.
Reminds me of some other arrogant WRC driver..he could crash and that was fine but his answers "Obviously you need to ask the engineers" or "Ask the welsh Wizard" said with venomous disgust..

Fortunately when he could no longer make results he killed himself ---and three innocent passengers---so he is now a mythological hero.

I somehow can understand him... he will never get the respect Loeb got even if he wins more titles and rallies and breaks mores records than him... so he has that inferiority syndrome most great champions have when they appear during an age where a TRUE legend reigns, plus Loeb never got him the chance to beat him and pass the torch to him, on the contrary he twisted the knife on him by ridiculing him in 2/4 events in a limited program.

See for example in Moto GP Marquez gets the chance to ridicule rossi like a garbage tramp dog, he takes all the respect from him and carries the flag of the new era of the sport... poor Ogier will never manage that no matter what he does.

So do not hate him, sympathise him...
