I still like this rally although it want be in WRC anymore.
Don't want to be in WRC? (Kenya Commercial Bank) Safari Rally, currently a round of ARC, and (Kenya Airways) East African Safari Classic Rally are two different events - here are the official films of 2009 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SHyP9XYFfY) and 2011 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xADicaQlk2w) editions of the latter.

I must admit the entry list (http://www.eastafricansafarirally.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=59&Itemid=55) is rather impressive - there's quite a few well-known names, and the cars include sixteen (!) Tuthill Porsches, three Kronos 911s, multiple Escorts, Datsuns and even a Corvette GS.

It is a fantastic event but very far removed from the WRC.

I was there in 2011 and am sitting in the airport about to leave for this years event :bounce:

Hopefully I can update some photos every so often, depends on internet access and my laptop only works when plugged in so no battery use :s

I think I read somewhere that they are organising a mini-Classic three day event next Easter.

Ian Duncan wins - there was just seconds between him and Blomqvist going into the final stage but Stig got a puncture and finishes over three minutes down. Incredibly close battle unlike the Safari.

But now after nine days of rallying I am completely exhausted, as are most others!
