Don't get this game. :p

I think Mark said, since the change of forum, the security has been lost and so spammers are harder to prevent.

Could be wrong.

Yes kind of. I'll be implementing new measures next week. Can't at the moment as I'm away with very slow net access.

The main issue at the moment is you can tell who is a spammer. Although 99 of 100 registrations are spammers it's a safe bet they all are. But what about that 1 person of the 100 who really does want to discuss Motorsport?!

would it make any difference to add some restrictions to new members?
minimum 10 posts and 2 weeks membership before they can start a new thread?
New members can still post replies which won't lock them out from the discussion,

Or will the spam bots just circumvent this?

That would be a first. ;)

Only 1 in 100 now actually discusses motorsport. :o

That could be an option.

Not that 'I know much about it. :(

Not a bad plan. Of course spam replies are still spam. But that and no links for new members will go a long way.

Yer, at least if its individual posts then mods can maybe just erase posts rather than sorting through Spam threads.

I've changed things back to allow new users to register, however they will be checked against the StopForumSpam database first.
