I'm planning for 2014 (when my stepson has finished his engineering degree) so companies offering good self -catering accommodation or Student hostel details would be most welcome.

I´m coming, and my son as well. But that´s already said. We´ll stay Wednesday night at Sokos Hotel, Paviljonki.

Per, maybe this year we'll finally meet. It's been close previously, but not quite near enough :-)
To my memory, it'll be my 26th time in the rally, to mum's memory 28th time :-) That's like five misses since I was born.

Looks like this year I'm spectator after a couple of years mechanican job in NORF. Surely my summer cottage is my "service place" in Jämsä.
My parents will rent also their cottage in Keuruu (~20km to SS Jukojärvi and 15minutes way to Koskenpää, 30mins to Jämsä, 75km to Jyväskylä)
I'm going - cannot wait to get back to Finland!

I don't want to scare people out, but watch your step if you go to spectate on an open, cut- out area or other places known to be in favor of vipers. This year we've already seen three of them while going in the forests which is three more than in previous decade. Other people too are talking same. If you want to prepare yourself, buy a viper kit (kyypakkaus) from pharmacy, some 6-7€, it's for the first aid if you get unlucky.
On the positive side, hardly any mosquitos or horseflies at the moment...

And they are not always hidden in the forest off-road either, in the +25C and over temperatures I´ve had to jump over quite a few of them while running in the gravel paths.

Good news! I recall hordes of mosquitos from last year. To be honest though, I prefer mosquitos to vipers..
