Rally accidents NZ

There appears to have been at least two serious incidents at a NZ regional rally (Hanmer Forest Rally, South Island)- resulting in one death and one serious injury reported so far. Please correct me if I am wrong but If I remember correctly the previous and only other NZ rally fatality was in 1981 in the Rowallen Forest when a driver was trapped in his car under water in a fire fighting water storage pond.
