the new quote system of this forum sucks...
for the moment Meeke cannot be ahead of neuville...
As for the last comment about Ogier... the guy is not even champion, yet you treat him like Loeb already... i cannot understand what is wrong with humanity ??? Do you guys want to see a battle of sick dogs instead of the best winning ??
if you want competition just for the sake of it then watch the F1 ladycup where 99% of the races are fixed before they even start so the incompetent overweight fans have something to discuss... plus the girls who race there have better hair...

End of rally perhaps but not by end of today. Gap was approx 20 secs before this stage, he took only one fourth of it off and there's only repeat of this long one and one 14 km stage twice today.

Mekke has never been able to combine speed with staying on the road and that's why he hasn't got a seat in the WRC. He got two chances with Citroën and he blew it and now he know he wont be on the list for a possible future seat.
Interview with Matton says it all....
Q: It must be a massive disappointment for the team after such a promising start.
YM: “Yes, he started with good pace and he was seeming not to take too much risk, but I need to speak to him to see what happened.”
Q: What does this mean for Meeke’s chances of a place in the team?
YM: “I will say it will not help, for sure, but the first thing is to speak with him to know what happened. But for sure it was not what I ask him to do.”

Oh dear Kris!!Damn, I think he`s blown it this time! Impossible situation given what he was trying to achieve, trying to show his undoubted pace balanced with his orders to bring it home. When you have 2 rallies to show your wares, with limited car time, it was always going to be a `catch`22.

I can (we all do) understand Meeke's wish to perform as best as possible in Finland; even for a price of a roll-what clearly happened. But to do same mistake ''down under'' with his maturity, is simply not in favour for his future career. He should have all the time in front of his eyes fact, that such opportunities as sitting behind the steering whell of a factory car do not repeat many times in a life of a driver searching for a top seat for the last two years....

I do watch him closely. So far he has not proven he is ready for WRC team. We have doubts about guys like Hänninen, Mikkelsen or Meeke who all managed not to only win IRC/ERC events but also titles against more serious opposition than this year. Breen is far from their level in the moment if he can't win a rally when all of them are out of the championship. He is extremely spectacular driver, that's true, but in the same time that's not enough.

Congratulations to Seb.
His dominance on this rally is incredible. Short of SS17 lost by 0.1, he won all the non mickey mouse stage. and he just made it look easy. but now, was there any competition?
I am not a big fan of Seb O. on a personality level, but you have to acknowledge he is on a different level than anyone else (except the semi retired Seb L., of course).
Neuville is surely showing how much he improved this year. he always showed speed, but now can show consistency. his next win is around the corner, but at this point it will require a DNF from Ogier.
Latvala was again disappointing, when he doesn't go off, he just post very average time.
Hirvonen, like usual, did not shine. what to say... world champion of the most boring driver?
Meeke: what's to say... 2 off in 3 days... it will not land you a seat, even though he show some speed... you need to finish, in particular if the team ask you to!
Ostberg: as usual. IMO, very overrated driver. A few spark of genius, but overall just posting average time and make too many small mistake.
Overall, this does not paint a exciting picture of the WRC. No one know how long Ogier's dominance will be there, but i predict it will be 4 or 5 years until we see someone who can challenged him on pure speed. Surely no one in the current field can or ever will.

Potential for a terrible accident, luckily had enough balls to keep power on and didn't go for the brakes...

It's pity Seb didn't win already. It could be the fastest championship. Or did anybody became champion faster?

If Loeb goes on to win the Rallye France it will be interesting to see who gets the more attention from media. If everyone talks about Loeb and his farewell rally, then Seb 2 will never get over him :p

Vw movie is all about ogier. Ok he wins but latvala pays the money. I would rather bring my sponsor money to a non factory team. All the attention to ogier but latvala is paying the bills. They could put the vw polo seat were sun is not hining if it were me!

Is Latvala bringing money to VW? I assumed it was a free ride and he got a salary (or beer money at least).

Latvala is the last line of defence of the finish managers... he is not going away any time soon which is good for the sport since he is fast and spectacular... but that is that... maybe in the future he adds his name in the paper champs list... but not soon.

Marie says that is exactly the case, the French media is Loeb-centric and seem to have no interest in Seb O. That being the case this Rally France has so many sub-plots in terms of 'defining moment's of rallying.

Well we made it to the end, finished 2nd in the National 4wd category and for that we got a Boomerang:)
Roads on Sunday were trashed on the first 2 stages but Shipmans the final stage was in great condition.
Had a big night on Sunday night and was a bit worse for wear on Monday.

In terms of pace, I'd love to see Hayden Paddon get a chance in a WRC car. I think he'd get good results straight away, and could be a real threat with a year's WRC experience under his belt.

Electric problem on SS1. When he was running he won all WRC2 stages (except some SSS runs maybe).

Of course they are Loeb-centric when Loeb is much better :)

And won them by plenty, too. About half a second per kilometre faster than anyone else in WRC2.
