Hey, how is everyone?
I've been lurking in the rallying section mostly.
Since the new release of RBRSR I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a rally like the good old days?

I'm in to! :)
But I always play offline, so how is this going to work? Tell me.. ;)
One thing, let the new beautiful czech stages be in the rally! :P

Usually what happens is that everyone does their rally offline and sends in the HTML files from RSRBR to me and i collate all of the results.
I've still to decide on a route for the rally so if anyone has a specific stage they'd like to be in it let me know!

You could always include some of the French stages in gravel mod, that's fun!

How many stages will be included in the rally? Is there gonna be an all tarmac rally, gravel and so on or will it be a "mix" rally?
How can I get the stage times to show for you? Im not so good at this you know! ;) ;)
But a really good and fun idea!
Are we going to drive in the same "class" for example, WRC, S2000, N4 and so on?

It would be fun to put up some replays and pics from the stages but the replays does not work sadly...

I'll put up a full set of rules in another thread during the week. my plan was to have around 30km of gravel stages followed by approx 50km of tarmac stages. I'm open to discussion on the car classes but past rallies have been open to any car. most people used a WRC or S2000 car. NK used to like using an N4 subaru sometimes.
To get the times to show, you just click export html on the my times window in RSRBR then that saves a HTML file and you send the file to me. Easy peasy :)

Save the replay after finishing the stage, then load either SSE or RBRdll and under "Driver profile" is load replay. Make sure you match the conditions, stages, cars and mods to those in the replay and it should work. It works for me. BTB stages don't support replay as far as I know.

Sounds like a good plan! I vote for RRC/S2000/Group N. The WRCs are fun, but there are a couple that dominate a lot performance wize. The RRC and S2000s are at least quite equal, and a lot of fun to drive too.

Would this require rsrbr 2013 as I haven't got it yet?
Macd

I'm sure you could scrape by with rsrbr 2012

Unless there is included any new stages, you will be fine, bit it's worth getting 13 though.

Thanks for the answears!
I vote for S2000/RRC or WRC but I drive with the original physics. Have you guys your own setups?!
And I vote for RSRBR 2013 so if possible, we can drive the beautiful czech stages in the tarmac loop!
This is going to be fun!

Okay, how about this?
N4 & R4 Cars inc S2000/RRC
40kms of gravel stages
40kms of tarmac stages
including some of the new Czech stages but no BTB stages, since we've had issue with them before.
Stages will be run offline in the old manner and entries will open on Wednesday 12.00 (GMT) and close Sunday 30th at midnight (GMT)
That give plenty of time for people to recce the stages and run their rally. I'm recommending that everyone uses RSRBR 2013 and i'll make the stages based on that. If anyone can't use the 2013 version then we'll try to come to a compromise, I want to get as many entries as possible in.
If anyone has a specific stage that they'd like to be used they can PM me it and i'll try my best to get it into the route.

So basically you can run the stages as often as you'd like and your best times count?

No, once you start the rally you have one attempt at a stage and all stages must be completed in order.
You may recce the event before you start, but once you start that's it.
Same as a real world rally.
Here's what i used to do for one event:
1) Pre-event testing, pick a stage which I think is likely representative of the event and do around 100kms of testing in the rally car.
2) Once the route was release i would recce the event in an N4 car, not at rally pace, purely to check the pacenotes and any bits to watch out for (bumps and ruts etc).
3) Shakedown testing, The organisers provide a shakedown stage for on event testing, it's a good chance to compare times with the other drivers and finalise setups
4) Complete the event. I'd normally take a day or two to do the event, doing 3 or 4 stages at a time and taking breaks in between.
Hope that helps

Ok, so I could do five of the stages one evening, export the HTML files for this session and continue the next day?
Macd
24th December 2012, 22:03
Yeah, that's fine. So long as the stages are in order.

Thanks. So it is not possible to simply escape when you crash and 'restart' the stage in RBR? Because when I do so in offline mode I only see 1 stagetime, which is the one I completed and I don't see the ones which I haven't finished.
