You got it right, Rallyper got it wrong ;) There is a gray road on the map coming from SP2 though but I'm pretty sure that's not open, would get you 200m before the spot if it was.
Does anybody know if this road from Sunnemo towards Lesjöfors is open? It would save me some time going from Höje where i live to Lesjöfors.
I was describing a spot where the cars are going out on a quite newbuild bank over the small lake Flåsjön. As I can see you mean the lakeside of Holmsjön, as described. My wrong. Sorry.
SP 2 walking 800m in cars direction is a good spot too.

He is from the same level as Al-Attiyah I think. But he uses his own money to rally, logical. But with that budget, they would have better supported someone else. Why not putting PG in the car, he can even challenge for the win in it!

It's all about the money! They Needs Nasser for the money not for results, PG is a much better driver then Wilson and Nasser together of course! But this is about money...

So I will rather see Wilson or Solberg in that car insted of no one! ;)

This "There's a seat! Petter should have it!" attitude is ridiculous. He is not the be-all and end-all when it comes to rallying. If he was, he'd have a full-time seat this year.
From the sounds of things, Solberg burned all of his bridges at Ford. I've heard that the team weren't happy with his performances throughout 2012. Assuming that is true for the moment, why would Ford then turn around and give him a seat?

The answer is easy; In order to take points in championship, or just having one more very fast driver in Ford team even if it´s one-shot. Not hard to defend. I should say even PG would be a better choice. But- don´t forget MW can very well score an 7th or 8th. No sensation in that.

Just to be clear, I was thinking of Henning Solberg or Wilson... But PG would be the clear choose if they want a big chans of bringing home good points. I think that Wilson will fight guys up on 10th position...
I do not agree with some of you guys who speak of Solberg and PG together, that they retire often after stupid misstakes....
Solberg did last year...
As for PG, he did not, it's that ****ing low class factoryteam Proton who can't deliver a safe snd proper rallycar. PG dors not often go of the road, it's always tec problems!

You also have to remember Wilson has been driving the car lately in testing/development where as PG hasnt driven one or tested so would no where near be on the pace. Plus I suspect the fact that PG would have to adapt to Giovanni would also slow him down.

Adapting to Gio will also be a problem for MW, unless Signor Bernacchini has mastered Cumbrian vowel sounds! Also what is this 'pace' of which you speak?
Mad cat jnr
5th February 2013, 10:13
It will be alot easier for Wilson as Gio delivers the notes in English for Nasser and that is Wilsons 1st langauage, when you try and get a driver who is used to notes in Swedish to drive to notes in English (and write them in English) you always going to have an extra barrier, added to an unfamiliar car with no testing?
I co-drove on the Isle of Man for a Belgian driver and that was tough, the notes were written in a Flemish style, and read in English so it took the driver alot more time to work out what was coming up.

So far, the funniest comment of 2013 :D
On a serious note, it's a disgrace that Al-Attiyah's seat isn't give to an experienced fast driver or an upcomming Swedish talent that has trouble finding sponsors. It's really soooo unprofessional trying to run a business and then let your useless son run a WRC car, instead of doing what is best for the sport, which would be to go for excisting talent or future talent.

I'm sure that if someone had thrown a bag full of Krone at Malc he'd have been very happy. He is running a business, not a charity. You don't know whether there were any behind the scenes offers to the organisers before Mad Matt was parachuted in, probably in the absence of any takers. Personally I'd have said that asking Kris Meeke to step in would have been doing 'what is best for the sport' but as Nasser has paid for the gig I imagine he had a pretty big say in this outcome.

I would have offered the seat to PG Andersson or Tänak or P.Solberg or Atkinson or Meeke or basically anybody else to improve the sport and the spectacle instead of giving the car to the poorest WRC driver ever, just because he happens to be the son of the team owner. That's not really World Championship level, is it?

I can understand he isn't your cup of tea (he isn't mine) but try to resist the hyperbole. There are a number of regular WRC drivers whose records are worse over the same period of the famous 5-year plan, indeed there are a number I'd be willing to bet you will finish behind him in Sweden.

However, choosing someone like Solberg or Meeke would get you not only a driver likely to score a better result but also far more positive publicity, especially off the back of Meeke being on Top Gear and thus now being in the consciousness of the general public.
As you say Nasser's money probably had a big say...although I suspect that M-Sport offering a saving for this event is what led to Wilson getting the drive, rather than it being Al Attiyah's real opinion.

The geographical limits varies from one program to another.
Its completely dependent on which program it is and what rights SVT have to that particular program.
So some programs can be watched from anywhere in the world, while some others only can be watched from within Sweden only.
Basically its down to what SVT and the rights holder have agreed upon in the contract.
I am sure that SVT wouldn't mind making it available to the whole world but limitations in their rights prevent them from doing it.

They have used the rule that a few days before the rally you can change only one of the crew members (driver or co-driver). Every other thing should remain unchanged, including Manufacturer Team nomination (They didnt changed the crew, just one member). So, it should be Wilson/Bernacchini and Neuville/Gilsoul for Qatar WRT.
Rule:
21.4 CHANGE OF ENTRANT AND/OR CREW MEMBER(S)
A change of entrant is permitted up to the close of entries.
After closure of entries, one member of the crew may be replaced with the agreement of:
- The organisers, before the start of the administrative checks.
- The Stewards, after the commencement of these checks and before the publication of the list of crews eligible to take the start.
Only the FIA may authorise the replacement of both crew members or the entrant.

Nikara's car just left the off scene at 11.21. If I got it right, cut too deep, hit front left and then rear right too. Rear wheel with broken brake pad. Nikara was doubting he would make it to QS, but only minor damage to car so - first on the road tomorrow? Nikara is also feeling a bit under the weather.
Picture of the car on my Twitter, can't post it here.

First impressions:
- Ogier, breathtaking fast. Smooth yet aggressive driving. Will win this.
- Latvala, Loeb, Hirvonen. Super fast, not much difference to each other. One could win this if so.
- Östberg. Really fast, but not fully clean driving. That'll either loose him time or the whole rally. Maybe too much pressure?
- Tidemand. Okeyish, but not clean. Some good stage times, maybe. Hopefully gets full mileage.
- Hänninen, Sordo. Okeyish, fast and clean but not superfast.
- Ketomaa, Wilson, Solberg, Nikara. Decent, but missing the wow effect. Prokop in similar level.

Weather looks to come very beautiful and calm (some sun, some clouds). Temeperature mostly between -5.. and -10 for next couple of days, maybe some light snow overnight but no too much (so, first on the road might not be the best place.. I think last on the road is not too good either - soft snowalls are already well "used". Next new snow is expected from Saturday evening and on Sunday morning.
