How are the national rules and regulations in your country for homologating Group H or other national classes?

Can you in some classes use parts that are not original parts, but as good and secure, but cheaper?

In Norway we have a class called cl 13. It is for old, no longer International homologated 4wd cars. But since you have to buy spares that came with the car or homologated updates from the factory, the price of maintanence is very high.

Do any countries have work-arounds for issus like this?

In Poland there is only "Open" class, but main difference is bigger restrictor (34mm), also some parts of body don't have to be homologated (i.e. self made bumpers), also cars with not homologated VIN numbers (i.e. US versions of Evo's). There is also "Historic" class, but rules are really strict there so not possible to build quick car there, without puting in a lot of money.
In Baltics they have quite open rules for cars in National classes, for example in Lithuania you can build very fast 4wd car, it have to use engine from same manufacturer as bodyshell (not bigger than 2l with turbo), 34mm restrictor, also all the safety things are strict, other rules are mainly min. weight and nothing more... so plastics everywhere, bodyshell heavily cut, custom suspension, gearbox, etc. Very nice rules in my opinion. Similar rules also for 2WD cars. Same situation in Latvia in Estonia I think, at least with 2wd cars.
BTW. someone from our Estonian friends could send me a link to detailed technical regs of their group E cars?

In US it is easy and much cheaper. My car for example is an open class impreza. I have a 2.2l turbo engine (up to 2.5 turbo engines and something like 5.3L naturally aspirated engines). We can use what ever parts as long as safety guidelines are met and any turbo goes as long as it has a 34mm restrictor. Sequential gearboxes are allowed but must be manually activated like current wrc cars. Minimum weight for national championship is 2900lbs. They did that on purpose so someone can't bring over a wrc car and humiliate us.

We did away with group n years ago and have the "SP" or super production. Car is basically show room stock with a 34mm restrictor and safety equipment. You are allowed to take a wrx and add a sti 6-speed transmission but you must also add the sti wing then. Brakes are open in that class, intake and radiator hoses are free. Weight limit is determined by car ex: wrx sti must be 3100lbs.

Requiring homologation papers or parts would kill rally here in a heart beat. My build budget is probably what some European teams spend on tires for 2-3 events.
