Seems like we can get a white rally in 13: Intercontinental Rally Challenge plans first snow event in 2013 - IRC news - AUTOSPORT.com (http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/102102) and R5 will be allowed. I hope they will be as equal as the S2000 cars have been, so many brands and drivers win!

No news on the IRC/ERC merger, so lets see!

Nothing is announced offically yet, but so far - first week in February seems very promising for Latvian rally fans :)

Janner is again negotiating with Eurosport. As usually, everything is about money.

I clicked like, not because there is "no IRC" but because ERC should become something better, and IRC becomes an official FIA championship.

Now I just hope they get the calendar right.

Which is my worry. Will they pick the events with big funding, or the best events for the ERC?

It is still the same calendar from Motorsport News and I think it is not 100% correct. But we are talking about it in different thread...

Well, the Circuit of Ireland is a week too late as it's always held on Easter weekend, Fri Mar 29th and Azores would only be a week before.
Off to find the other thread.

IRC as we know it simply said will be ERC next 10 years, thread is under [European] ;) - http://www.motorsportforums.com/european-rallying/155332-2013-erc-news-results.html

I think this forum should be renamed "European Rally Championship" for next year so that ERC has it's own forum and not just one thread on the European section.

I agree with RS :)

How can they not include San Remo!? Unless SanRemo is due to be re-instated as Italy's WRC round.

Can't believe Sanremo has been left out from next year's calendar  I need to make some phone-calls...

An utterly bizarre decision....... and quite wrong!!

Or that the IRC Sub-Forum is renamed to Regional Rally Championships, and that we get Sub-Sub Forums, and not only threads for each series, if that is tech possible in vBulletin?

Would love for a rally in the North, with one of the TBA rallies as as a gravel rally in Sweden, Norway or Finland.
2013 European Rally Championship season - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_European_Rally_Championship_season)

Would make it easier for Northern drivers to go for a ERC campaign, maybe also the Solberg Brothers if they cant get togther a good WRC plan.

In my opinion that would be much smarter than WRC !

I haven't heard about some reasonable interest from Scandinavian or Finnish organizers to join ERC. Is there some?

Sulland
29th November 2012, 00:07
Neither have I, but for instance South Swedish Rally would be a good candidate. But not quite sure how Eurosport thinks in their build-up.

What are the cost involved, or is that not fixed, but individual?

First the organizers must have an intention to join ERC. Eurosport has tons of candidates and doesn't need to ask another ones.

The highlights:

There will be no funding for Rally Bulgaria

Looks like Rally Bulgaria won't be part of ERC2013 due to lack of funding. The amount needed is mentioned to be 280K EUR + the pending payment for IRC Rally Sliven 2012 which is 110K EUR. Even the main funding to be available, most likely there is no way the rest 110K to be paid.

Eurosport as a promoter of IRC can claim up to 300K from the organizers of Rally Sliven in court.

The rest mainly is for that the responsibility for these 110K unpaid EUR is entirely hold by the organizers of Rally Sliven only and ASN had fulfilled their financial backing for the event which is only 25K EUR due to the fact that the event is part of the East European Cup as official FIA championship. IRC is Eursport's one and ASN can't hold any responsibility for funding such event.

So most likely no Bulgaria in ERC for 2013...
