Is this guy's information accurate?

As far as I know most racing organizations were allowing use of Snell 2000 standard helmets until the end of 2010, at which time Snell 2005 helmets had to be used, and Snell 2005 helmets would likely be usable until 2015.

Thankfully, there is an organization that does a standard series of tests on helmets and that certification of manufactured is done by random sampleing. Other wise buyers would have no clue.

Since individual helmets are each subjected to unique environmental exposure during use, no doubt the Snell Foundation cannot test for all possible conditions.

It was also my understanding that exposure to various contaminants in air, sunlight, and human sweat degrade many of the critical helmet protection materials, noteably the impact absorbing inner-liner, over time.
