Maybe he doesn't like the attacking football that Holland regularly play ;)

gadjo_dilo
14th June 2012, 09:14
Because Netherlands is always with us in qualification groups and they always win against us. The scenario is the same even in club competitions.
BTW, guess who is in our group for World Cup 2014.....

janneppi

You form your opinion of a team based on a match 2 years ago? Get over it, it was a world cup final, Spain didn't play too fair either.

I'm funny that way, I might forget, but not forgive. ;)

EightGear
17th June 2012, 22:36
There was a lot of pressure from everyone to have both Van Persie and Huntelaar playing. After all they are the top league scorers is England and Germany. And we managed to score only twice during the whole tournament.

The biggest failure was Van der Wiel...

Josti
17th June 2012, 22:52
The most amazing fact is that Huntelaar played the whole match... what a waste of space that guy was...

He's a player that is totally dependable of a good pass. He didn't get one.

Many things were wrong this tournament, I don't think the feeling was ever right.

heliocastroneves#3
18th June 2012, 12:57
The biggest fail was Jetro Willems in my opinion. Also van Persie was not half as good as he normally is, when he plays with Arsenal. Too bad the thing ended very early for us, Dutchies. :(

I hope England gets destroyed next round. What a joke of a ruling by the refs. It is about 15 years too late to bring in video repeats, but maybe this will help them bring those in.

Despite winning the group, I still think England are a not a good side. We just don't have players with a good enough first touch to keep the ball (apart from Scholes, Carrick and Wilshere). At least they are putting in all their effort this time, unlike the 2010 World Cup.

I really want them to beat Italy to set up a semi-final against Germany. That would be electric.

Well, here our opinions go in separate ways. I actually am not that patriotic person and value aesthetics more than a silly nationalistic pride. Sometimes it happens that your team has a bad day and on the next day they come out with the right attitude again. But watching teams like Chelsea, England and Greece etc being horrible on a daily basis gives me creeps :D

What was wrong with the 3-2 game against Sweden? The second half of the game was the most entertaining of the tournament so far. England play much more attractively than Greece.

Spain last night were dreadfully boring. Pass, pass, pass, pass......yawn no shot, more passes, yawn. At least England needlessly give the ball away to see if the opposition can play. :p

I rather think he needs the offside rule explained. For exhibit B I provide a picture of a 50p coin:

http://media.gizmodo.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/offside50p.jpg

The mowed line on the previous photograph shows quite obviously that Milevskiy was beyond the second last player (the last would be Joe Hart who is out of shot). Therefore he received the ball in an offside position at the time the ball was delivered.

I'm afraid that because this happened at roughly 06:22am Sydney time I had no booze and so the lines on the pitch weren't wobbly at all. Perhaps Mr Walker had been conversing with his brother Johnny because like the Ukraine he clearly has a Blue Label covering his eyes.

I have been supporting England for ages but this team is just lousy..... Used to love how England played, but now they remind me more Estonian national team :D

last time they played good football was Italia 90 under Robson (probably the first tournament I saw completely/remember, as I have very faint memories of 86)

Most of the idiots in my country supporting manU, chelsea, arsenal and now city and who think that football starts with EPL and ends there also think that by default England are the best team in the world and deserve to be champs. same is the thinking of most brain addled English fans that I read around the net, when it is pretty obvious that although they have really good/great club players, as a team neither their style of play or effectiveness are any good.
until this time, dreary but atleast effective enough to get to the QFs.

I really want them to beat Italy to set up a semi-final against Germany. That would be electric.

First, Germany should beat Greece.

As expected :D

I support England all the way... to the quarter-finals, where they'll be knocked out because they'll play like a bunch or overpaid prima-donnas, the Sun will say "We Was Robbed", and the Daily Mail will blame it all on immigrants.

Pffft. England winning a tournament... Tim Henman will win one first.

England are always good enough to escape the group stages but never gel as a team. As a nation, England only has a single solitary, lonely trophy sitting in the cabinet from 46 years ago, and that's probably about right.

How? This is an article from The Sun. It is both English and a popularist newspaper. The correct question is why wouldn't a newspaper like this publish an article like this?

"Tuttavia, sul campo, l'Italia sono più forti dell'Inghilterra e il nostro calcio è di qualità superiore. Noi rispettiamo l'Inghilterra, ma noi non li temiamo. Si tratta di spazzatura."
- Alessando Diamanti, as quoted in La Gazetto Della Sport (worldwide edition), 22nd June 2012

Forgive my lack of Italian knowledge, but I read the word "spazzatura" to mean either rubbish or trash. If so, that would be perfectly expected in an Italian popularist newspaper. The difference being that England fans already know this to be true :D

what the hell happened here? Czechs were okay in the 1st half but in the 2nd they just gave up!
no attack, no possession at all..and no urgency or attempts even after going 0-1 down...I dislike CR7 intensely and Portuguese team in general but they deserved it. Atleast they wanted to score a goal.

I think Russia would have done better here had they not wasted their chances against the Greeks.

Everyone in England :D and Wales, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland. Also, everyone in the EU and the remaining countries in Europe not in it the EU. The Anglophone world except the USA who don't know what football is and the people of the Falklands who desperately hope that England wins everything so that Argentina doesn't invade... and everyone in Asia, Africa and the Americas. And the people of the remaining islands and other sovereign territories in the world.

Who says that Italy are favourite? Practically everyone except Roy Hodgson, Boris Johnson and John Prescott and the only reason he doesn't because his mouth has a pie in it.
