We'll wait and see but I think if they're allowed to do, it will be from Indy onwards..

That was my thought too - but I was not sure.... Sure would have some bearing on pick 'ems if Honda had a little more power though....

It looks like we will have rain tomorrow. Rain showers are predicted for most of the day. Bolt on the full wet tyres & let them race. I don't want to see them hanging around the garage area waiting for it to dry out. As long as standing water isn't ridiculous, let's go racing. I think it could be a cracking race with the rain & it would be nice to mix things up a bit!!!

can someone tell me, what time the greenflag will drop EST? I'm trying to plan my day around this race and want to know if I should expect the race to start at 1130 or 1230?

Thanks!

Watched the race. Glad to see Power winning, hoping this means he is finally firmly on course for his first IndyCar title. And Sato - fantastic! Finally he has got the podium he has been waiting for soooo long. Despite suffering some serious unluck so far this season, here came the relief.

 @the 8-car collision after the safety car restart.

I don't know what to say about this race. Congrats Will, you are the best, beside ugly bumpers and sound of the cars was muted, race was little bit on the boring side and amateurish as of late pile up.

I strongly believe these sidebyside restarts would bring out the amateur hour in any series, from WRC on down.

They need to dump double wide restarts on certain tracks. Great run by Power, no doubt he's the best right now.

Good run by Dario despite getting turned by Conway.

Not the best race in the world, it must be said - horribly disjointed to watch and seemed to spend way more time under yellow than required, considering none of the offs were especially big (in scale if not car count). Think the recovery process is something Indycar could look at improving, as even single car incidents seem to take an age. Appreciate it's tricky on street courses, but why not invest in a few cranes a la Monaco? Anyway, that aside, pretty dominant stuff from Power, and go Taku!

Yes, Takuma Sato ran very well. Perhaps he could win a race this year?

I think others would probably have to have misfortune for him to win, but then he's run top three in the last two races now, so he's certainly putting himself in the right place to capitalise, which is what you have to do. Would be pretty cool to see him win Indy :)

Of course he still has a limited experience on ovals, but he already impressed with his pole position at Iowa last year... I think it would be cool if he would at least finish in Indy. :)

Whilst the race in Sao Paulo was eventful and entertaining, I'm was still left frustrated by the same old story. How many times did we have caution periods for stalled cars? We have had all this pomp & fanfare about the new car & all of the modern technology it brings, but it seems that basic features simply aren't working. Will Phillips announced that ALL cars would be able to use anti-stall from St.Pete, yet virtually every single spin or crash, where a driver CAN continue, so far this season has resulted in a caution because the driver has stalled. Justin Wilson (at Barber) is the only incident I can think of where a driver spun, but kept the engine running & continued (I put that one down to his experience of using a hand-clutch in F1 rather than anti-stall working). Is the system still available? Are teams choosing not to run it, Has IndyCar said, erm...a few teething troubles at the moment chaps, you can have it back when we know it works properly!!! I admit it's affecting Honda, Lotus & Chevy, so it's probably software-related, but this car was tested for a few months prior to launching this season so I would have thought they would have had this ironed out by now.

Also, OK this is new technology to IndyCar, but I hate it when the announcers keep banging on about the hand clutch being foreign to a lot of the drivers. Hand clutches have been around in F1 since 1996 (I think Irvine, Schumacher & Villeneuve were amongst the first to use them for Ferrari & Williams). Most of the drivers who've come from a European background would have experience of a hand clutch in junior categories so it shouldn't be new to them. I suppose it would be new to the likes of Dario, Dixon, Andretti, Kanaan, Castroneves, Hunter-Reay, etc who have been in IndyCar long-term, but again, they've had ample time to test the car and get used to it. It's just so frustrating that races are being spoiled for simple incidents when anti-stall should be dealing with these types of incidents. It's doubly frustrating when you know that this was precisely the reason hand-clutches & anti-stall were introduced on the DW12 to stop unnecessary cautions. Yes, there has been many positive aspects for 2012, thus far, but certain things are still holding it back slightly. I, for one, am delighted that Beaux Barfield is introducing standing starts later in the season, but can't help feel that given the current performance of the hand-clutch & anti-stall system that we could be waiting till next season before they are introduced.

Just my opinion on a couple of things I'd like to see improved upon, in an otherwise excellent start to the 2012 IndyCar season. Roll on Indy!!!

TV rating for Sao Paulo was a .23, final. Comparison to last year is moot as the race was rained out and made up the next day.

Not good.

I hope we can get at least a 4.2 at Indy (fingers crossed).
