I noticed that there haven't been any of those green TIWI circles on windshields this year in the Nationwide and Truck Series. Has NASCAR given up on GPS scoring?

It's funny you mentioned that because I noticed that in the truck race also. Maybe it just wasn't accurate enough (versus scoring loops and transponders)?

GPS is never going to be anywhere near as accurate as transponders. It's maximum accuracy is only 10 metres.

As I understand, the biggest problems involved grandstands and banking blocking satellite signals.

They also reflect them which drastically reduces accuracy.
