I'd like to ask Brother John to explain his method and principles of moderating the rallying section of our forum. I get the impression that he has a vision of what he thinks the forum should be like, but I have to confess I don't get it. And based on some of the reactions of other members in various threads, I think I'm not the only one. :s
All I know is that we constantly get criticized by Brother John for indulging in what he calls "pub talk". I'm also not happy with posts being deleted for no apparent reason. Yesterday, a member started a perfectly legitimate thread about Dani Sordo's exceptional speed on Day 2 of Rally Portugal. Today, the thread is gone. :s
To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of this style of moderating, and I also think it's not consistent with what other moderators are doing in other sections of the forum.
But maybe it's just because I don't get Brother John's vision. Perhaps if he could explain...
