Kind of a bland regular race in terms of top 8. A lot of people making very good picks, but it was Dagger who came out on top this week! Congrats!
gm99 and Phoenixent, also great picks to round out the top 3.

00steven still holds the top spot in the championship standings but lost a little ground to tradin paint this week. EagleEye hangs on to the third spot but it's a scramble for the rest of the grid.

Dagger's win makes him the biggest mover of the standings, jumping him up 16 spots, whilst Chamoo, garyshell, and Harvick#1 all lose 11 spots...unlucky boys.

Great job all - make sure to really rack your brains for the first oval coming up this year - Indianapolis 500!!

Picks will be due the Monday after bump day, so you are able to wait out qualifying if you want to make your picks. It's going to be a long race!!

An up and down race, I know for me especially I was doing great one second and then down in the dumps a few laps later.
This race was very tough to pick, but mmw053 made it look too easy, making some risky picks and it paid off!
Maui J.'s debut to the pickem competition paid off well also, taking 2nd place!
Djramdudley, great picks as well to take 3rd spot.

Unfortunately, 00steven did not get his picks in before the deadline, so he takes the huge plummet, losing 26 places in the standings. This hands the lead over to tradin paint, but gm99 is nipping on his heels just one point behind!

EagleEye stays stationary in 3rd place.

heliocastroneves#3 gets honorable mention this week - making up the most positions (16) to break into the top 10 in 7th position!

Tough race for pickems, with a lot of heavy hitters not finishing so well and a bunch of surprises finishing up front.
Congrats to Luis Pacheco for his first win of the season! mmw053 has another great week coming in 2nd, and Mekola nabs the 3rd spot.

We have a switch for the championship lead! tradin paint was not able to retain his recently gained championship lead, as gm99 takes over the top spot now.

Fugariracing made terrific picks this week to propel him up 10 spots making him our biggest jumper! He now sits in 9th place.

A no-pick week for Chris R loses him 14 spots down to 30th place.

Dagger grabs his 2nd win of the season, and it's clear to see that this really was anyone's pick as some of the heavy hitters did not finish. 2nd place goes to myself, and 3rd to IndyRaCk, marking both of their first top 3s of the season!

gm99 and tradin paint remain at the top of the scoreboard unchanged, but Dagger is showing his determination to grab the top spot as gm99 reaches 3rd position!

drewdawg and IndyRaCk have gained the most spots this week to springboard them right into the top 10! a non-pick week by elan 02 and disko drop them the most spots this week.

tradin paint tops the standings this week on a very tricky pickem race. Both Target cars did not make a top 8 finish which really lost a lot of points this week. marcamillion and 00steven did a great job picking to earn 2nd and 3rd place, 00 the only one to pick the race winner!

No real huge shifts in the championship, Mekola jumped up 6 places (the biggest jump) up into 27th place, and a non-pick week from Nikki Katz drops them 19 places.

tradin paint and gm99 trade places up at the top of the standings once again. Whereas 3rd/4th/5th stayed exactly the same.

Congrats to Alexamateo for their first win of the season! All 3 podium contenders in the pick for the win, but ChicagocrewIRL and Mekola made great picks as well to finish 2nd and 3rd.

tradin paint has an awful week finishing 2nd from last but retains the points lead, and in fact the top 3 remain the same after the round.

Phoenixent, ChicagocrewIRL, and Alexamateo all were the big movers this week; each earning 6 spots in the championship standings. However, tolis plummets 6 positions with a rough week of picks.

We have peaked the halfway point in the season and the top 25 are all within a race-worth of points so don't give up just yet!

Just wow, this may be the worst pickem race results I think I have ever seen. It is nearly impossible to pick the top 8 drivers this season as the competition is so intense. I might suggest simply randomly clicking on whomever driver for the next race!

tolis takes the win with a pitiful 12 points, and points leader tradin paint takes the 2nd spot, while Dagger (who had more correct drivers than the prior 2) comes in 3rd.

With tolis' win, they jump up 8 positions in the championship to be in 7th place, whilst IndyRaCk (who managed to be the only person to have 0 correct drivers) loses 7 positions in the championship hunt.

The top 6 in the point standings did not move.

We will see you all back for Edmonton, where hopefully your picks will produce better results!

Sorry for the delay guys, no one bothered to tell me that my thread was titled "2011 Edmonton Indy" instead of 2012; led to much confusion when trying to update the results on the database! All was figured out though.

Anyway, congrats to our winner of the event: heliocastroneves#3. Only person to choose the winner of the event which gave a lot of points. MD24 comes home 2nd and Phoenixent in 3rd.

The points battle is, once again, at a standstill with tradin paint up at the top, but the battle is very close between the top 5.

MD24's second place finish jumps them up the most spots this week, gaining 5, while GaryLW loses the most ground this week dropping 5 spots.

Midfield is still super tight in this competition, one wrong pick and you can find yourself plummeting through the standings. I think we can all agree this season is very tough to be spot on with your picks.

Congratulations to fugariracing for their first pickem race win of 2012! ChicagocrewIRL makes their way to 2nd place, and mmw053 had great picks to finish 3rd.

Fugariracing correctly picked the podium finishers, WTG! These correct picks saved fugariracing, as Chicagocrew picked more top 8 drivers, although in the wrong spots.

In the championship, the top guys stay the same, as usual. Lots of shuffling midpack though as the points stay tight there. ChicagocrewIRL's 2nd place finish propels them up 5 positions to nab a top 10 spot, while tolis loses the most positions, falling out of the top 10 in 11th position.
SoCalPVGuy also lost 3 positions due to not picking this week.

IMO, with 3 races to go, I think the championship hunt is strictly limited to the top 5 players at this point. fugarircaing now sits in 5th with their brilliant performance this week. Can fugariracing make a dark horse charge to the front for the final 3 races? Will tradin paint misstep and struggle to pick competent top 8 finishers? It's gonna be a tight and close finish to the end of the season!

Congrats to IndyRaCk for slaughtering the competition this week, gathering 26 points. gm99 had a brilliant weekend as well and DJRaverXtreme comes in 3rd place.

Unfortunately, the database isn't showing changes in standings due to the cancellation of the China race, but I do notice that tradin paint has surrendered the lead of the pickems to gm99.

The database is showing that the top 24 entrants mathematically have a shot of winning the pickem competition, but realistically I think it is down to the top 5: gm99, tradin paint, Dagger, Starter, and fugariracing. Any of those 5 guys having great picks for the next 2 races can come out on top. Who will it be?

djarumdudley takes their first win of the season, winning over DJRaverXtreme, who makes their second visit to the top 3 this week, and mmw053 comes in 3rd place.

Surprisingly, no one chose RHR to win the race, as most people thought Power would be the dominant driver on this street circuit.

djarumdudley and DJRaverXtreme both jump 8 spots into the top 10 this week with their fine picks, while a non-pick from IndyRaCk this week loses them 15 positions.

It is going to take a miracle to knock gm99 off the top of the standings, but any of the top 3 have a shot at taking the 2012 Pickem title after a hard season.

gm99 comes through to win the final race of the season tying with fugariracing, but gm gets the tiebreaker with the 8pt pick for Franchitti!
Dagger slots into 3rd place.

No one picked Ed for the win unfortunately (surprisingly), but I think we can easily say that this year was not easy to make accurate high scoring picks! Great challenge.

Congrats to gm99 for winning the 2012 Indycar Pickem Championship! A commanding 63 point win over Dagger in 2nd, and fugariracing in 3rd. Starter in 4th and MD24 in 5th place rounds out the championship table.

Meanwhile, in the midfield epic battle, mr_swiss jumps up 3 places to finish off the season strong in 13th place, while GaryLW just falls out of the top 10 to finish off the season.

I think we can all say this has been a great season, and I thank everyone who took part and I hope to see you all back again next year. Please tell your friends, tell your family to join in the competition! The more the merrier! I hope to see 50+ picks for each race for next season if possible.

Awesome - I'm really happy with my second overall pickems win after 2007, even though it took me until the final race of the season to actually come first in a race event.

Thank you to drewdawg for again running the competition (and the fantasy racing) this year and to everyone else who participated - I had a blast and hope to see you all (and some more) back next year.

Time to open that bottle of champagne ;)

Congrats gm99, I'm also happy with my first full season of competing in Pickem! Of course I started doing this at Motegi in 2011 and a sixth place for this season is quite nice, not to mention my win in Edmonton. The second place finish in the fantasy competition is also something where I can be happy about, I really thought I could win it but second is good. Congrats to 00steven for winning that championship!
