Unbelievable that Lotus didn't have an engine for Seabass. Quite pathetic to have a four time champ sidelined like that.

On another note, Hunter-Reay may be a dark horse for the title this year. I just have a feeling he will be really strong on the road and street courses.

I think you're right Steven, and don't rule him out on the short ovals as well. Also, he's not that bad on the 1.5 mile/2 mile ovals. He never has been really bad at Indy, except last year. Let's hope for a better '500 for him this year, but Hunter-Reay indeed should be able to do it. It has been a while since Andretti Autosport won a drivers title by the way. :)

And about Lotus not having an engine for Sebastien... That must feel very bad for someone who once had so much success in Champ Car.

Some great photos from Sebring on Speed C. Engine shots are superb.

Quite a few video clips of the cars in the "New Car News" thread. I like the sound but kinda miss the higher pitched whine of the old engine.

Awesome to see Helio on top. I really hope he's a contender for the championship this year.

But, but, but .... Anthonyvop told us that the ABSOLUTE fastest the new car would EVER go was a 53.5. Your timing must be off. Just who do you think you are "Hoop-98"? You certainly aren't a "journalist", and we all know "journalists" are the end-all-be-all of motorsports knowledge.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. :D

Actually this brings up an actual question to my mind. Where it lists (T)ire, and they all say F=Firestone, why don't they have it be (B)lack or (R)ed?

And next year (God I hope it actually happens next year) when they have aero kits they could put that in the Chassis column as well.

Interestingly, Dario Franchitti had to wait for a new pedal kit to arrive from Dallara to allow him to right-foot brake in the DW12. Up until now, he has only been able to left-foot brake, as the car was originally designed for. However, he has decided to stick with what he knows best and continue to right-foot brake. I haven't read anything regarding Rubens Barrichello's situation regarding his braking & I know that Helio has decided to switch to left-foot braking, so I'm somewhat surprised by Franchitti's decision.

Rubens has been left foot braking for years in F1, so I don't think there is any problem for him. He said after his intial test that his experience with carbon brakes made it easy to adapt to the carbon brakes IndyCar is switching to this year.

Looks like Lotus drivers are going to be just that, drivers.

The Lotus guys only might have chances for a good result on street circuits, if they just stay out of trouble. Not to make this a Danica thread, but that's the way how Danica was able to finish 7th at Long Beach, 9th at Edmonton and 6th at Baltimore last year. And I think with those kind of results, the Lotus guys might be happy already.
