This is the thread where I will be keeping track of the Nationwide series FIA standings this year. I have revised my score sheets so that I can keep track of the real Bri-Bri standings and the old style Latford standings as well. I'm also adding a twist. I'm also going to keep track of the Bri-Bri standings as if everyone is eligible to recieve points, as well as the FIA standings with the Bri-Bri ineligibles not getting points, too. SO that will be 5 sets of points standings, but the primary focus will be the FIA standings.

06 T Hill....................08
07 C Whitt...................06
08 T Stewart.................04

In the old style Latford, its Buescher over Sadler, 190-175.
In Bri-Bri (where everybody gets points) its Buescher over Sadler 47-43.
In real life Bri, taking out the ineligible drivers, it's Sadler over Dillon, 43-40.

Old school Latford standings:

t08 T Malsam.........................0258
t08 S Hornish........................0258
010 J Logano.........................0257

Elliott Sadler leads here, too, by 25 points over Keselowski.

Bri-Bri standings (everyone is eligible for points):

001 E Sadler.........................0090
002 B Keselowski.....................0084
003 A Dillon.........................0080

t09 T Malsam.........................0063
t09 S Hornish........................0063

Elliott Sadler leads Brad Keselowski by 6 points.
Here the standings are very similar to the old style Latford, but because in the differences in the spread between top 5, top 10 and non top 10 finishes Cole Whitt leapfrogs over Ricky Stenhouse for p6, and Joey Logano jumps up to p8.

The real life Bri-Bri Standings:

NASCAR Nationwide Series standings for 2012 - Racing-Reference.info (http://www.racing-reference.info/yeardet/2012/B)

With the real life rules making certain drivers ineligible to recieve points in this series, Elliott Sadler leads Austin Dillon by 10 points, 89-79. It seems RCR could be in for a very good year in the Nationwide Series

Michael Annett, Benny Gordon, and Joe Nemechek jump up into the top 10 once Kes, Buescher and Logano are removed (Kes and Logano can only earn Sprint Cup points, Buescher can only earn Camping World Truck Series points).

Here are the final standings for the 2012 Nationwide Series:

The real life standings can be found here: NASCAR Nationwide Series standings for 2012 - Racing-Reference.info (http://www.racing-reference.info/yeardet/2012/B)

Ricky Stenhouse was able to get it done for the second straight year, besting RCR stable-mates Elliott Sadler and Austin Dillon 1251-1228-1227. Stenhouse joins Sam Ard, Larry Pearson, Randy Lajoie, Dale Earnhardt, Jr, and Martin Truex as a back to back champion.

Now for the FIA standings (top 15)

001 R Stenhouse...................379
002 J Logano......................283
003 E Sadler......................280
004 A Dillion.....................279
005 B Keselowski..................210
006 S Hornish.....................192
007 Ky Busch......................160
008 K Harvick.....................155
009 J Allgaier....................147
010 Ku Busch......................137
-------------------------------------
011 M Annett......................114
012 D Hamlin......................112
013 C Whitt.......................088
014 K Kahne.......................065
015 B Scott.......................063

Stenhouse won the FIA championship by 96 points over part timer Joey Logano, and 99 points over Sadler, almost a 4 race lead. Looks like domination to me.

52 drivers scored at least 1 point in 2012. Oh, and since she was voted the Most Popular Driver, I feel the need to inform the masses that Danica Patrick finished tied with David Ragan for P40 with just 8 points. It must be that massively inferior Jr Motorsports-Hendrick equipment she was driving last year.

Alas, like in the truck series, I failed to complete the Latford points standings for 2012. I will endeavor to do better in 2013.

Congrats to Ricky Stenhouse, the 2012 Nationwide and FIA Series Champion
