This is the thread where I will be keeping track of the Truck series FIA standings this year. I have revised my score sheets so that I can keep track of the real Bri-Bri standings and the old style Latford standings as well. I'm also adding a twist. I'm also going to keep track of the Bri-Bri standings as if everyone is eligible to recieve points, as well as the FIA standings with the Bri-Bri ineligibles not getting points, too. SO that will be 5 sets of points standings, but the primary focus will be the FIA standings.

FIA

01 T Peters...................028
t2 J King.....................027
t2 J Lofton...................027
04 K Harvick..................025
05 T Dillon...................020
06 J Buescher.................015
07 T Kvapil...................012
08 J White....................011
t9 T Bodine...................008
t9 N Piquet...................008

Very tight points battle up at the top. Taking Harvick out (he's only racing 2 or 3 truck races this year) its already starting to look like its going to be an exciting season in the truck series.

Hornaday has failed to score at all, Bodine is struggling, John King is impressive after all. Looks like in the end its shaping up to be a 4 way battle between Peters, Lofton, King and Dillon (not sure how many truck races Buescher is doing.

Latford:

001 J King............0328
t02 T Peters..........0325
t02 J Lofton..........0325
004 T Dillon..........0313
005 J White...........0294
006 J Buescher........0282
007 P Kligerman.......0260
008 N Piquet..........0252
009 T Bodine..........0238
010 R Hornaday........0236

Latford is very tight as well (very early in the season) with 3 points separating the top 3, and 15 the top 4..... It also shows how weak the field is, with Hornaday (p10) already 92 points behind after just 2 races.

The real life Bri-Bri standings can be found here:

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series standings for 2012 - Racing-Reference.info (http://www.racing-reference.info/yeardet/2012/C)

Right now it pretty much mirrors the Latford, with King p1 over Peters and Lofton (82-81)... Hornaday and Bodine swap spots (p9 and p10) seperated by 1 point, 24 and 25 points back respectively.

Wow, where do I start? Last year was a really bad year for me, alot of things outside of work fell by the wayside.

With the 2013 season about a month away, I feel that I at least need to pay all of this off that I started.

SO, without further adieu, here are the final standings for the 2012 season:

The real life standings can be found here:

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series standings for 2012 - Racing-Reference.info (http://www.racing-reference.info/yeardet/2012/C)

Congrats to James Buescher on winning the title in real life, winning by just 6 points over Timothy Peters 808-802.

Now for the FIA standings. 45 drivers scored at least 1 point in 2012. For the truck series, that is a lot. The top 15 were:

001 J Buescher...................219
002 N Piquet.....................176
003 T Peters.....................172
004 J Coulter....................166
005 T Dillon.....................159
006 P Kligerman..................153
007 M Crafton....................134
008 J Sauter.....................128
009 T Bodine.....................087
010 J Lofton.....................084
-------------------------------------
011 C Gale.......................070
t12 B Keselowski.................055
t12 R Blaney.....................055
014 B Gaughan....................052
t15 Ky Busch.....................048
t15 R Hornaday...................048

I have the totals for everyone, so if you want to know the points total/position for a particular driver not listed, just ask. :D

As you can see in the FIA system which is really about what one did, not about what one didn't do, so that bad finishes are effectively thrown out, Buescher beat Piquet by 43 points, almost 2 full races. Peters finished P3 in FIA, 47 points back.

I did not finish the Latford standings, but its pretty safe to assume full season Latford and Full season Bri-Bri should be very close.

SO, congrats to James Buescher for winning both the Camping World Truck Series and NASCAR FIA Truck Series Championships in 2012
