Way to go for Sterling again! Making the race should ensure he stays in the top 35 and means I can finally have a relaxing qualifying at Martinsville.
The #14 team has done a great job as it is the only team to have made all five races from the go or go home cars (aside from Jarrett and his provisionals).
Great job by Ward Burton, Mike Bliss and Kenny Wallace to make the race in underfunded teams and am pleased the #36 finally made the race.
Disappointed for Joe Nemechek but he should still be safe in the top 35. Wonder what is next for Mikey? If they have any sense they should stick Bill Elliott and his champions provisional in either the #00 or #55 to move them up in owner points. NAPA can't be happy.

Bristol is also the 1st race that A.J. Allmendinger has made this year.
That only leaves Kevin Lepage that has missed all of the 2007 races. http://www.motorsportforum.com/forums/images/icons/tongue-anim.gif

Speaking of the fella, where is he?! I haven't seen him here for ages, is everything OK with him?

Bad luck for #13, he was already the slowest in 1st practise. Should stay in the top 35 though.
And what's up with Harvick?
3rd time in a row a less than earth shaking performance. And slower than team-mates as well.

I'm afraid #55 has dug a hole so deep that they can put all the champions who can get the provisionals in the car and they still couldn't get it into the top 35. I think that if Mikey manages to get onto the plus side, he can be happy. :p :

You know, some drivers get extra bonus for points they have scored, is Mikey one of them? :p :

Kenseth, Harvick, and Busch were the first guys out, for some reason at Bristol, you just can't do anything when your the first out.

remember the last time Harvick won at Bristol he started last :)

Robby Gordon, Bristol is not a very good track for someone who can't control his emotions

I'm gonna go on a long shot and say AJ Allmendinger

Slight adjustment to the back of the grid. Forgot that a 'top 35' driver doesn't get grided in 43. So AJA drops to 43 everyone else moves up 1 spot.

Perhaps RCR doesn't have the COT dialed in yet looking at the qualifying.

harvick#1
24th March 2007, 00:57
They say RCR has the cars dialed in on the flat tracks,

but I heard they are going to repave Bristol :( and they have been thinking about taking banking off the bottom of the turn to turn and make this track a two groove track. please I hope they don't ruin another track with that nonsense.

Harvick said his car was great in race trim, but horrible in Qualifying trim.

He started last because of an engine change......

The worst qualifying effort to win the race at Bristol was 38th...Elliot Sadler in 2001 (in this race I might add).....

You don't have to look it up, I already did....

The same race John Andretti finished 2nd no less...it was due to an unusually hard tire, back when Goodyear made hard tires, not rolling grenades. I believe Sadler and Andretti ran 120+ laps on those tires to win the race.

it wasn't the whole engine, just like a power steering pump or something was leaking, they weren't sure if it would be okay or just replace it. he still started the race last and won, then came back teh next day and started 38 and won. so it can be done :D

True...and if you check the post that I just finished in the Bristol Race thread, I figured out the Starting grid based on the old method of top 36 on speed 37-43 provisonals (the type used through 2005) and guess where Harv would have been starting? 38th!
