Mercedes-Benz will be officially called Mercedes AMG Petronas from 2012 season, after the team announced the addition of the manufacturer's road car performance brand.

They made Sauber run around as "BMW Sauber" for 12 months after BMW quit yet they let Renault/Lotus, Lotus/Caterham and now Mercedes change their names on a whim. The people who run this sport are a bunch of dumb-arses.

They made Sauber run around as "BMW Sauber" for 12 months after BMW quit yet they let Renault/Lotus, Lotus/Caterham and now Mercedes change their names on a whim. The people who run this sport are a bunch of dumb-arses.

I think in case of BMW Sauber, there was a contractual obligation where Sauber couldn't drop the name, and for Renault/Lotus we all know it was because of the court case.
