hi, was just wondering if there is anyone who could help me with a problem with my nissan nx-r coupe. i put it in gear and went to take off and something started grinding as i took my foot off the clutch, then there was no drive and it sounded like it sheared the teeth off. im not sure if it is in the gearbox or the diff.

i have also had the car on stands, in gear and the front wheels spin like it is still in neutral.

would really appreciate any help as it is my only mode of transport.

Could be the clutch, get a mechanic to look at it.

Could be thrust bearing, thats worn through the pressure plate,or with Discovery,s the pivot wear a hole in the clutch opperating fork,or primary shaft into gearbox sheared, but that usually only happens with very powerful engines. We had that problem with Group 4 1800 BDG,s.

or if you have been really rough releasing the clutch to move off ,you could have ripped the centre out of the clutch plate
