So, I see Thug Crow is yet again attempting to hold London's commuters to ransom by demanding a £350 bonus plus time in lieu for working on a bank holiday....

Those drivers are on a BASIC salary of £45k, just for sitting on their greedy fat ar5es all day long, occasionally opening doors the wrong side, I hope they do go on strike, fail to meet their mortgage payments due to loss of pay as a result of striking, loose their homes and then suddenly wake up and realise just how lucking ****y these greedy oiks are!

Sack the lot of them, retrain the jobless who will be grateful for a job and put them on a £25K basic salary.

Discuss.

The DLR (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Docklands_Light_Railway) works just fine with driverless trains, a fact which the Tube staff would do well to remember.

A friend of mine is involved in negotiating with these morons, sometimes the pay they lose in striking is more than the increase they're striking for.

Often the tube drivers themselves aren't in favour of striking but due to their ballot system a vocal minority they are pushed to strike anyway.

Something needs to be done about Bob Crow, someone who famously said that disrupting the lives of millions of Londoners is well worth causing to get a pay rise. He seems to be living in his own '70s bubble.

Surely, they don't have to be union members, do they?

I'm all for Tube staff being supported by a union that campaigns for decent working conditions and fair employment practices, but when they're asking for a pay rise on top of their already astonishing salary - during a time of apparent austerity - you do indeed have to question their grasp on the real world.

No I don't think they do, but then again if you were a tube driver wouldn't it make sense to be one? After all I know if I had the choice of joining a group that could keep my salary rising above inflation regardless of the economy I'd be part of it like a shot.

Also there are a few unions around, some less well organised and/or aggressive than others. I think the RMT is the worst.

Having seen this inarticulate, badly-dressed fool on television numerous times, including the occasion when he said to Ian Hislop, "I've got more in common with a worker in China than I have with you", I must agree wholeheartedly. Watching and listening to him reminds me why I don't class myself as part of the hard left.

THIS GOVERNMENT ?!

Think this has a lot more do with Labour than the coalition.

As of 2009, Bob Crow's basic salary at RMT was £94,747; a 12% increase from the previous year. His entire pay package with bonuses and pensions was £133,138; on top of this he claimed £9,989 in expenses and £2,376 in travel costs, taking his total income to £145,548

and on top of that he has a free council house

makes you sick doesn't it, but that's Unions for you.
