Well, it's the off season. Wanna have a little fun? How about famous finishes? Anything CART/Champcar/Indycar of any year. Preferably video, but if you can tell a great story from way back, that would be great!! No comparing, just fun!!

Good idea, well I liked the Texas 2007 race... Especially because I was a Danica fan back in then, and it was on the other side great to see her finishing third. But it was also very disappointing she still didn't win her first race, this was in the period when she was even good on road courses (two front row starts). But I had the luck that the guy who won, Sam Hornish Jr, was one of my favorite drivers as well (I wish he came back).

Portland 1997 was a Great Finish with Mark Blundell taking the win over Gil De Ferran and Raul Boesel. You could cover 1st, 2nd, and 3rd with a blanket.

This is definitely THE BEST! Zanardi... A great driver with a great personality.

It is funny, today Zanardi's pass would never stand -(well, hard to say in Indycar since TGBB is in charge) - but in F1 he wound be penalized for not staying on course (there is no way he could have completed that pass AND made the next corner) .... As exciting as it was, I didn't think it was really a fair move then and I still don't - that being said you have to admire Zanardi's drive(no pun intended) and willingness to take a risk that put himself in more danger than his competitor.....

Yep, my all time favorite Indy moment and Al Jr's classiest moment, 1989 Little Al and Emmerson:

As with Indy 1989, the deciding moment as opposed to the actual finish, I'd have to offer this -- Brazil, 1998:

Also '97 Portland... all stand outs for me.

Marbles, thanks for that moment. It brought tears to my eyes. The next segment after the one you linked had a great interview with Greg and Alex.

As a PacWest fan, the last lap in Detroit, 1997, was heartbreaking but exciting none the less.

Another great finish.

This is the flip-side for those of us who complain about boring fuel conservation strategy races... and it happened more than once back then. Even the '89 Indy race drama was enhanced by not knowing if L'il Al had enough to go the distance.

It wasn't for victory, but the finish of Denver 2006, along with San Jose 2006, were pretty much the only times Champ Car made sport headlines here.

Watching a car race gives so much excitement and from each race a car driver becomes a hero who wins the race. And a good race car driver is that who can hold his success for a long time. This makes a racer best car race driver and Finisher of the race. One of the best car race driver is Richard Petty who have won many car races of Nascar car race series.

This was not a great finish ( unless you where MA) but it was a great chase.02 Long Beach GP Vasser who had pole made that race so exciting to be there when he made a run at MA. Lap after lap he would knock off seconds. The fans where goin crazy. Could Jimmie catch him. Not today
but great fun

Wish I was there! Somewhere back then, there was a great race in Vancouver with Zanardi. I can't recall which one though......

I still rate 1995 Cleveland as one of the best races ever in any series. The last 15 laps are pure nuts and the lead changes so many times and those were proper cars with lovely sounds.
