Summer tires

I'll need new tires the next summer. I've narrowed down the choices to Bridgestone Dueler 684 H/T, which is the brand chosen by the car manufacturer:

The question is: Do the car manufacturers know the best what suits their models or could independent testers know better?

Eki what comes on a car as original is usually a result of serious negotiations on price. 5 cents means an awful lot when you buy 1,000,000 tires. It could easily mean $200,000 pure profit to save 5 cents.... So lots of cigar smoke, sleeves rolled up "negotiations' and maybe some attache cases full of used, non-consecutively numbered 100s shoved under the table to "ease" the deal. Same with many parts: turbos, wheel bearings, shocks etc..

All about making a deal.
