(Sao Paulo) After nearly a year of uncertainty, a season short of what is used to doing, the Brazilian driver Helio Castroneves extended his contract with Penske and is guaranteed for the 2012 Indy Racing League championship. The signing took place more than two weeks, during the Japanese Grand Prix - played at the Motegi circuit.
The official announcement of the new contract should happen by the end of the season in the United States. The American option exercised by the team indicates only one more year of commitment. However, the parties talking again in 2012 and not ruled out the continuation of Castroneves at Penske from the 2013 season.
