I've just been looking around on Nick Leason's website, and according to this page ( http://www.nickleason.co.uk/History.htm ) he was involved in developing an ETCC ford focus. Has anyone got anymore info on this project? Did it actually happen, or was it stopped before the cars ever raced?

The team were originally looking to enter that car in the Production class for 2003 using the "Team Macmillan" name (giving a % of sponsorship to that charity, see attached proposed livery). That didn't come through, so for '04 they looked to convert it to S2000 with a sponsorship scheme similar to what Racing for Holland did in Le Mans a few years back - hundreds of black/white squares on the car which smaller businesses could put their logos on for a couple of hundred quid each.

The production class has had the odd Focus in the BTCC before anyway has it not? 2001 ish, i remember a yellow one at the final meeting at Donnigton Park in 2001.

GR Motorsport ran 4 Ford Focus for Mat Jackson, Gareth Howell, Rick Kraemer and Richard Meins (Gordon Shedden steeping into one of those cars for the rounds at Knockhill) in 2001. Jackson and Howell did quite well. In 2000 GR ran a single car for Gareth Howell in a meeting at Silverstone.

Jackson and Howell both had yellow Focii in 2001?! It's taken them this long to get their first full seasons in BTCC, interesting to note what different paths they took!

Actually Howell didn't have a full season in 2002. Team Atomic Kitten didn't enter until the second meeting at Oulton Park.
