So Indianapolis is upon us again. The 2011 season is at a pretty critical moment, particularly for Jorge Lorenzo who dropped to 32 points behind championship leader Casey Stoner after the last round at Brno. He will be hoping for a repeat of last years race where he finished on the podium and Casey crashed out. Dani Pedrosa returns to the U.S. also hoping for a repeat of 2010 where he won the race, especially off the back of an uncharacteristic crash whilst leading the race at the previous round. Ben Spies finished runner-up last year at Indy and will be looking to go one better at the iconic circuit this year. Nicky Hayden comes to his home track after some positive testing of his Ducati GP11.1 that he will run and will be hoping that it allows a more competitive performance than so far this year. And for Valentino Rossi, last rounds race was arguably his most competitive aboard his Ducati this year after some geometry changes, can it be sustained into Indy and the rest of the season or is it a case of Estoril all over again?
Here's hoping for fine weather and close racing.

Also of note, in the build up to the race, 17 year old AMA supersport racer, Elena Myers became the first female (woman?) to ride an 800cc MotoGP bike with some demonstration laps around the Indy circuit - and she looked like she enjoyed them!

Fair play to her, she wasnt hanging about!

Just watching practice on Eurosport and theres no Toby Moody commentating on the 125s. His replacement is doing a decent enough job but wheres Toby?

I want to get know what are the new modification of motorbikes......

Ideally, this is a question that should have been posted on the thread entitled "Hello, Anyone out there?" Sounds funny but it works.

If you want to go right into it you can Google the topic and find out more or research it on the official FIM site. In brief, the specs are as follows............
Technical Specifications for 2012 for the MotoGP class

Capacity up to 1,000cc
Number of maximum cylinders 4
Maximum bore ø 81 mm
Minimum weight 150 kg (up to 800cc) and 153 kg (over 800cc)
Maximum number of engines available for use by each rider 6
Fuel tank capacity 21 liters

Can't quite believe this but Dorna have signed a deal to keep the GP at this godforasken hole of a place until 2014!!

Worst racetrack I have ever tried watching on in my life! Nice on Dorna

I cant believe it either, it is by far the most dull layout of the year and the huge venue looks rediculous with such a small crowd. Looks like we will have 3 US Gps next year and the rest in spain...
