And I am not talking about the person who fell into the Niagara Falls but rather about the journalist:

The department said it was working with the Japanese consulate general to notify the victim's family. Her name was being withheld pending the notification, and police did not say which country she was from.

Apparently , she was sitting on the railing , getting her picture taken .

One is lead to wonder if the picture was , indeed , taken .
Was her last wish fulfilled , and will we ever see it ?

I've been to Niagara Falls quite a few times and know exactly where she fell. It's pretty dumb getting your picture taken on that railing I must say. Still, horrible way to go. RIP.

I wonder why they didn't say which country she was from. Maybe they just didn't know?

Survey Reveals Geographic Illiteracy - From The National Geographic (http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2002/11/1126_021120_TVGeoRoperSurvey.html)
About 11 percent of young citizens of the U.S. couldn't even locate the U.S. on a map. The Pacific Ocean's location was a mystery to 29 percent; Japan, to 58 percent; France, to 65 percent; and the United Kingdom, to 69 percent.
