The only thing, one can do not to follow team orders,
in order to get on top in classic cases like the current one,
is to play his own tactics - pressure... stress... push it to the max.

I suspect the Mini crews won't attack much now, bring the car home instead

Yeah, I just made some calculations. Sunday's stages are bit like Friday's stages and Sordo lost 0,16 s/km to Mikko on Friday. If Mikko has the same pace, then he'll catch Sordo about 12 seconds, so the 33,1 second gap should be okay. Sordo could lose 0,40 s/km to Mikko and still keep the third spot, because it's only 76,3 competitive kilometres tomorrow. Probably the most easiest thing for Sordo is too keep pushing and keeping the good rhytm.

Jari-Matti Latvala Crash on Day 2
WRC Rally Germany 2011 - Latvala Crash in Day 2 - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIN7Kzrs-yE)
Here is the Latvala explain for the crash:” At the end of a sixth-gear straight I braked for a fourth-gear left-right series of bends. There was a big cut on the inside and at the end of the cut was a tree stump, which I hadn’t noticed. I went deeper into the cut than in the first pass and clipped the stump. I felt the impact and should have slowed immediately because when I braked at the end of the next 100-metre straight, I realised the front-right tyre was flat. We were passengers but I managed to put the car sideways before we went off the road and hit a tree on Miikka's side. It wasn't a massive impact but the car was about three metres from the edge of the road and down a small bank.”
He will back in day 3 to fight again for points.

I think you are being way too premature to judge KM on the basis of this event and 6th with mistakes is still damn good. I suspect they are trying set up stuff so some unpredicted behaviour could be the reason. Expect Mini to out perform Ford in France and Spain

First tarmac rally and again (like in the first snow-gravel rallies) Michelin seems to got something wrong with these tyres, too many punctures, they need to be more reliable. Is part of the sport but is jeopardising the competition a bit too much unlike Pirelli the previous years.

The last two stages ahead the Power Stage offers no surprises. Kris Meeke is out.
The rally leader Sebastien Ogier pushes slowly and safety during the last two stages. The second Sebastien Loeb is at +41.8. Third remain the rally surprises Dani Sordo at +1:52.1. Mikko Hirvonen is forth at +2:23.1 while fifth is the privateer Peter Solberg at +3:47.0. Further is the currently rally standing is Kimi Raikkonen, Hennning Solber and A. Araujo on eight position. Latvala is currently fourteenth out of the rally points.
Mikko Hirvonen stopped pushing hard to beat the Dani’s Mini after overshot a junction during the stage 17.
A big disappointed during the stage 18 for Kris Meeke with MINI. He stopped the rally after problems with the engine losing a power.
