AFS Racing and Sam Schmidt Motorsports will partner up starting at the Mid-Ohio race this year. They will race for the remainder of the season starting from Mid-Ohio on. It will be the #17 car. This is good news.

The driver will be announced just prior to the Mid-Ohio August race. Anyone have any ideas on who it might be ??

I thought you said you wouldn't post on here again, DanicaFan or did I miss something!!! Anyway, I reckon 1 of 3 possible drivers for this seat. 1. Alex Tagliani, if funding for the #77 does indeed run out after Edmonton, but Sam decides to keep him in a seat. 2. Rafael Matos, purely because of the AFS connection, or 3. Katherine Legge who has been constantly linked to a Sam Schmidt ride this year. I reckon 1 of these 3, as it's 4 road/street tracks & 3 ovals if they do them all. Plus, if it was Katherine Legge, it gives her a chance to shine on the road/street tracks whilst learning a few ovals, possibly with an eye on 2012. Just my opinion though.

You said you would not post anymore, so man up.

I posted this news prior to your thread, in the official Toronto race thread.

Not many people would blow race credentials to races by acting the way you did. We were even going to get you in the pre-race parade with a real driver. I only asked that you do two things; not pick the "BRAND" for every race in the pickems' and not promise victory for every race here. Failed on both accounts. Now move along.....

I don't pick "BRAND" for every race in the pickems' and never promise victory for every race here. Can I claim said credentials and/or the pre-race parade ride for Mid Ohio? Never hurts to ask! ...big ol' grin...

What do I know, it's Martin Plowman!!! Although, I notice it's only for Mid-Ohio, Sonoma & Baltimore. They said the ride was for the rest of the season, so I guess we'll see an oval specialist for Loudon, Kentucky & Las Vegas. What about Motegi though??? Anyone know the full story???
