If Ford can't find more speed they can just as well give up. Excluding Mikko's puncture, he was about as fast as Sordo in Germany. The 2nd position is of course the event where Loeb would retire.

There was simply nothing to gain from letting Latvala win. Instead, now they are still in the game, and with increased pressure on Citroen.

Maybe you feel one need a decent chance to justify such tactics. But imo a 5% chance will suffice. Citroen obviously also take the threat seriously, hence their team orders. So both Ford and Citroen respect the probabilities. If you disagree with them and say they both make silly management, ok, I don't.

Risk is a function of probability and consequence. Low probability does not dictate low risk.

These were the best roads in the championship.

What car number? I'll forward some shots, got you at a jump in Bucca

#52, the blue Ford Fiesta. There were some nice jumps in Bucca, just before a turn left on tarmac. I was a bit optimistic to hit them in 5th gear, we were in the air a bit longer than I expected.

Maybe on planet Pluto but not on planet earth. Did you actually follow Hirvonens tarmac speed in Germany? Did that give any indication that he could finish in top 2 on a tarmac event this season?

The chances of Loeb having a DNF on tarmac are far smaller than Hirvonens. After all Hirvonen is behind and has to try and drive over the limit to prevent Ogier and Sordo from taking points from him on tarmac.

It's not gonna happen and that's why Malcom's teamorder was a joke! Latvala won fair and square and should have taken the win.

He don't need tactics to look like that ;)
Sounds like you only follow stage times. I bet you expected Loeb to win Germany as most people and did't expect him to roll in Australia and finish behind point scoring position.
As I wrote once before, Wilson haven't used tactics in Sardinia in 2009, probably because Loeb were far ahead at that time and that costed them (Hirvonen) loosing championship by 1 point. That's why say never say never in rally.

The FIA’s Rally Manager Michele Mouton has backed the new-look Rally Australia to remain in the series – but she has suggested that the event may alternate with Rally New Zealand in future, putting an end to having both in the calendar during the same year... Impressive sequence of shots captured by Jimbo. Very lucky not to disappear off the bridge totally. Happened on the super fast and wonderful Graces SS. I wonder what the Mentos solution is for this problem?

Ryan Smart - WRC Rally Australia 2011 SS3 Shipmans - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13JNvCbs67c)

Really clear HD onboard of Australian Championship leaders Ryan Smart and John Allen through Shipmans. They are also going to upload the treachorous SS4 too.

Even at 360p the quality is great unlike the WRC onboards :/

Nice stage! Best feature of this clip is John Allen's note calling. Every up-and-coming driver should use an experienced co-driver
like him. He uses plenty of repeat calls and even gives encouragement/advice like: "good job, mate! / go! / flat, trust me!!

Currently working on a date for the Coffs Coast Rally for next year. We will run this as a ARC and NSW State round in the off year from the WRC. Should be around the same time of year as this year. Helps to keep continuity with the locals.

Also here's a top photo of Block from the Power stage. http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/313372_10150393488261584_724796583_10108206_692498 6_n.jpg

Hi Rally Hokkaido

Thanks for your kind words. I am looking for a new opportunity in Japan, so if you know of any english speaking drivers that are looking for an experienced Australian codriver let me know. Cheers John
