I am somewhat baffled as to why the production quality of IndyCar has remained so stale the last 5-10 yrs. Certainly, budget is an issue. And I do think that the Versus crew has upped the quality a bit recently as far as camera angles, etc. But as we saw yesterday, the typical IndyCar broadcast is fairly stale. I just saw this video of F1 pov shots and it gives me hope that these more exciting camera setups will be used in IndyCar productions fairly soon. The quality of the presentation in car racing is, I think, paramount to audience involvement in the races. With so many sports and entertainment options to choose from, technical achievements in the broadcast are necessary imo to really make racing stand out as the exciting sport it is:
