I wish that they'd stop arranging this event to clash with City games!

Will probably make a stage or two in the morning though, with any luck Porlock will be one of them. Quite a few entries received but a bit limited on the WRC stuff, apart from this one (methinks someone's made a mistake here):

lol could be a worlds first mg WRC!

I havnt even seen City once this year, what game clashes with the rally?

MrJan

Leyton Orient at home, and the Bulldog clashes with Dagenham. I already feel bad at missing the Bournemouth home game so that I could go to Barcelona so can't do with missing any more.

Fair enough mate, I may go see City on Tuesday all being well.

Just had another look at the entries and its now up to 80 with a few weeks still to go and Paul Bird has entered his Focus WRC :D

Would it be rude to ask for any stage maps again this year if anyone gets hold of some? ;)

Usually stages are pretty similar, sometimes reversed, the main thing is what order they run in. That said I wouldn't be adverse if someone (for arguments sake lets say it's a person with a press pass who speaks to drivers fairly often) wanted to pass on a bit of the roadbook info :D ;)

Depending on our season, how well we're playing, how nice the day is and how good the rallying is, I may actually make the decision to stay 'oop north' with the motorsport. Although I'll feel dirty about wasting my season ticket for the day.

Up to 107 entries now with hopefully a few more to come, which I hope will include David Wright in his Anti-lagtastic (its a word now!) Evo!

Thank you for the entry list.

My sister is studying in Coventry for some months now and she can't believe how dry Great Britain is.

Hi, If you could pass those docs my way too, that'd be awesome;

I've been down to the Somerset Stages a couple of years, the Porlock stage is always good, but it would be nice to find one of the less well known stages, that one corner on Chargot is a little predictable now :p

What an amazing days rallying im still shattered after cramming in 5 action packed stages, though you called almost call it 7 listening to Burton in Chargot from Croydon 2! I did the 1400s and the top 3 in Timberscombe, power walked up to Croydon to watch the top 40ish of the main field, got to Porlock to watch almost everyone through twice before going back to a very dusty Croydon! Big thanks to Tel T Motorsport Photography who recommended going to the uphill hairpin at junction 37, I got some great pics of the dust being kicked up by the cars!

I dont think ive ever seen a rally so close and to see the top 3 fighting for the win like that to the end was an absolute pleasure! Hunter was flying everywhere and was a deserved winner, though he did ride his luck a bit in Croydon 1 and in the second running, took the scenic route around the hairpin at junction 37!

It will be interesting to see the footage of the incident on Porlock between a Mk2 Escort and an Impreza, I dont think I have ever heard of a stage being temporarily stopped due to drivers fighting/arguing!

Managed Croydon and Knowle in the morning. Reasonable spot in Croydon but Knowle was a bit crap. Still it's nice to get a bit of rallying in at any time.

Would've stopped to talk to you Ally but was in a bit of a rush to get to Knowle, as it was we had to jog up the stage and only just made it to see Hunter. Hugh looked quickest in both stages and thought Burton was a bit off the pace by his standards.

Yea no worries mate, I know what a pain in the ass it can be getting out of that place! I agree with you about Hunter and Burton. The way they were driving was like Hugh was desperate to win while Andy was happy enough with more points and a 3rd consecutive finish :)

Oh and thought I'd add these in. Not rallying but from a sprint I was at on Sunday and thought they were quite interesting. The first is a Sunbeam that was pretty much drifting for the whole day, big crowd pleaser doing the sort of thing that we don't see to often on speed events. The second is of a Westfield that was also a big crowd pleaser, mainly because it's got a Rover V8 in it. Shame I didn't get a shot of the spotless engine bay but it was madness out on the track, spitting flame and heading sideways. The most astonishing thing was the torque, it lept out of corners like I've never seen.

Oh and neither photo is actually that good, although I've now got an SLR I haven't managed to get around to parting for any more cash to get lenses other than the 18-55 that came with it.

Great pics mate, your panning technique is sweet as a nut!

There was a fight?

Thats what I heard on the day, though ive not read anything about it since. It could have been blown out of proportion but it must have been bad to stop the stage!
