With both championships decided we will have a mini championship for the remaining two rounds.

-Essentially each stage will be scored as a rally with 1st-6th earning 10-8-6-5-4-3 points depending on how they finish the stage

-End of rally points will also be given as normal, so with 9 stages plus end of rally points it is possible to score 100 points for a single rally.

-Dnf=no points, but supperally is allowed

-I will keep two separate points tables, one for the former championship, and one for the mini championship

I'm changing my entry seeing as it's the final round. I will use the '00 Subaru for this one.

With a bit of time off at the moment I have finished Day 1 and 2 of the event. Day 1 went splendidly - really quick and consistent which was nice. Day 2 started well, then it all went wrong. Lost 1m30s on SS6 due to 2 spins, a roll and engine damage. Then lost another 12s on SS7 due to a jump start - amateur mistake - and a very high speed spin which I managed to just about collect.
Not looking forward to Noiker in the wet tomorrow!

Cheeky bugger...

Yeah the 00 Scooby sounds like a plan, a car that neither of us have much experience of in this championship.

I have finished my rally and it was quite tough one. I think I managed to drive only one stage without mistakes. Small mistakes were always creeping in, like braking too late to a corner and losing turbo boost as a result (which also meant slow exit from corner) or misjudging driving line to next corner and needing to slow down to fit for the next corner. Also few times I managed to get the car to 2 wheels and was in danger of rolling.

It was even worse in the wet. The car was sliding a lot and I was really struggling to keep it on the road but unfortunately for me I still had few small offs.

I hope I can get at least a podium but this might be a tall order.

Hmm, last night was chaos in our house so I didn't get to make my runs. Will try to finish it all tonight cos I think Friday might not happen and I off on Saturday to go watch our national rally. Hopefully I can get a chance before the cut off date.

Finished the rally. Last day was ok - another jump start and a call for help wasted valuable seconds but overall happy with my pace.

I'll try to make it but couldn't get around to it last night. Family war happening right now so I've got to put that fire out first before I can rally.

What's happening with this event? Gone rather quiet around here.

BTW go here to see the pics I took from our national rally this weekend - http://www.motorsportforums.com/forums/showthread.php?140626-2011-South-African-National-Rally-Championship/page8

Yeah it's fascinating to watch him, his style is different to the others, concentrates on carrying speed into the corner

Sorry for the quite-busy wekend as it was my daughter's birthday

Guys-I am really quite slammed at work and at home now (brining work home each evening). Its possible I may not get around to reusults til Friday. Hate to tarnish the final round this way, but just quite crazy at the moment.

Thanks for your understanding,

NeverKnow

Any news?

A further apology

I'm in the midst of finaliziing a piece for our annual report (due today). It has been occupying practically all of my free time since last Monday.

Once I have it off I should be able to process results. I'll do my best to get them done tomorrow.

If I had know it was gfoing to be like this I would have held this round for a week or two, but the deadline came as a bit of a surprise, to be quite honest.

Thank you for your overextended patience..

tannat
5th April 2011, 11:55
Once again my sincerest apologies for this unforgivable delay in results. I've really been slammed at work and home, and things are clearing only slightly at both locations.

Nevertheless- I am going to jump to the finish of this rally and present the final results without times so as to not give too much away.

tannat
5th April 2011, 11:59
No times and no commentary-don't want to give anything away, but here is how it finished:

1-pettersolberg29--------Subaru
2-Neverknow-------------Hyundai
3-Tannat------------------Subaru
4-BruceD-----------------Subaru

Will do my best to crank out the stage by stage times this afternoon..

Bruce D
5th April 2011, 18:22
Well I didn't expect any better so thats fine. Well done Tannat, you won the challenge. ;)

tannat
5th April 2011, 18:48
If you hadn't needed superrally I think things might have been different..

Hope to flesh out results later, if not then tonight

tannat
6th April 2011, 21:41
I will not waste much breath here-and truly apologize for the delay in results.

PS29 laid it down heavily, winnin all stages except one which was won by NeverKnow. Some back and forth between Tannt and Bruce D, but pranging it at the beginning of the second leag and suffering three supperally times did his chances in of a podium position.

Not too bad for me. Still need to improve much. I'm working on it now though.

NeverKnow
7th April 2011, 08:27
Not the best of debut for Hyundai but 2nd place is still good. Though PS29 was miles ahead of everyone else on most of the stages, I need more mileage with RBRs original cars to see if I can get some more speed out of them.

Thanks tannat for organising this championship and hopefully there will be season 2.

Thanks tannat for organising this championship and hopefully there will be season 2.

I really appreciate your participation and enthusiasm with screen shots and videos, NeverKnow.

Will have a look a restarting perhaps in June as I have at least three out of town commitments over the next 1.5 months.

Stay tuned :D
