About Norway, Rally kl. 7 – N-CUP * and Rally kl. 8 – N-CUP *.
Norge Cup? http://bilsport.no/poengstilling-2/

6th October 2015, 21:16
This is a cup for drivers with c license.
Normally, it is estimated that these drivers can not compete for the Norwegian Championships.
They therefore have been given a separate cup to fight for.

Only rallies? I can't find some. No name of rally.
I think some are here:

I'm not sure I understand the question or what the problem is.
If you enter the web page you describe above, for so to entre page for example the N-Cup 7 (Norges Cup klasse 7), one will find the 14 rallys one can retrieve points from.

Frank Tore Larsen had an off.
Both had issues with engine cuts mid corners. Difficult to drive 100%, with on and off response when you need it....

This two guys is real impressive, best buds from theire childhood, hard work and good results thru several years has gotten them into an R5 together with røhneselmer and adapta.
Torstein has even quit his job to be a codriver 100%, all NM and a couple of ERC this year together with Frank Tore, BRC with Fredrik åhlin, gravelcrew for Mads Østberg, and rental codriver at M-sport.

First round of NM took place last weekend.
results: http://www.sigdalsrally.no/resultater_total/13?use_template=empty
Østberg in WRC 18 Fiesta got problems with a rear brake that disintegrated. Probably by snowspray on redhot disc. Retired
Gryazin won with impressive drive. Won.
Grøndal second, but max points in championship.
Henning also got brake issues, but fixed and continued to 3rd in his old Lancer 6,5.
Oscar Solberg had rented a Fabia from his halfbrother and had a ball in the R5. Started with safety margin. Started to play with car on two last stages, and won last SS. Loved the car. He will try to get budget for more rental!! Fourth.
Anders Kjær have re-buildt himself a Golf 2 GTi, that is flying. 6th overall.
Frank T Larsen is not driving in Norway this season, but in Europe. Same with Brynildsen.
So R5 competition not as strong this year.
Next round. Rally Finnskog, 3 Feb.

In Norway we had something called "rallystopp", from 70ies to early 80ies, it was practically forbidden to run a rally these years, so many Norwegians raced abroad. Terje was "all over" europe these years racing.

Drove Escort WRC and Hyundai Accent WRC and was usually fighting for the win with the Danish tarmac specialists. Actually watched one of my old rally videos last week with him being interviewed for Danish television :-)

Really long story, but a minister in norway, Reiulf Steen, was a part of it.
When Per Engseth, one of the grand old men i Norwegian rally, crashed at stageend at Pellestova north of Lillehammer, he took the possibility to make the rules so complicated it was imposible to do a regular rally (guards every 50m for example).
The reason he crashed was that TV moved the finish 300m to get better pictures, without telling the crews.
It took around 10 years before the next rally in norway, at a military field in Elverum, took place.

So delays in results so far.

Quite good startlist at Romjulsrally in 2 days, also interesting to see Eyvind Brynhildsen in his first rallycar, a Volvo 740 VOC!

When Corona makes it hard to arrange rallies, some makes it happen.
A sprintrally #Lygnasprinten takes place today.
The special thing here is that the Historic class suddenly have close to 20 cars, spearheaded by Henning Solberg, Escort Mk1 and Eivind Brynildsen, Golf II GTI. I think it is the largest field of Historic rallycars ever in Norway. Love it!

Veiby lost loads of time on SS2...
Sulland
21st February 2021, 08:10
Veiby into a ditch on ss2, a lot of snow showeling to get out. And of course no fans in the forrest, due to Corona.
Two good fights at the end;
1st place fight: Marius Aasen that has been struggeling to get his new Rally2 Fabia to work till the end of a rally, suddenly he got the package to work, and gained more milage and the speed got better. On last stage he passed Frank Tore Larsen in a Polo, amd took the win. Mr Aasen And wife Marlene Engan makes a comeback after 3 years away from rally. So they still got it.
3rd place fight also decided on last stage when Henning Solberg, that was first on the road, and with weather turning from -10 C to just above zero degrees overnight, madte it slushy. Not easy for the first cars.
Henning did a sprint in his rented Fiesta on last stage and passed Anders Grøndal in a Rally2 Fiesta.
Anders has been struggeling to get the Rally2 Fiesta to work well on gravel and snow, and had new parts from M-Sport flown in and fitted. New engine, box and diffs. But With little to no testimg of the new parts, he is way off target, and car not responding when he is pushing, so he is just driving at 80%, to get maximum points. I hope they can get testimg new parts and that they get the Rally2 fiesta to work, if not I guess he will try to swap to a different brand. Not that easy when your dayjob is owning a Ford dealership.
Lets hope Corona restrictions still will allow for more rallies in weeks and months to come!

Sadly the round at Sigdal is cancelled due to warm weather, after been postponed due to covid.
So, the Norwegian championship after the winterseason is after just 1 rally.
Hopefully we got some more rallies in summertime than the 3 rallies planned.

2022, Rally2 class in Norway has grown to 13 cars and HenningS said he might have a car for the next one.
Rally4 has 8-9 cars, and only old R2 cars, so it is an even field, with Røkland a small head above the youngsters.
The rest ov the 90+ cars are older national classes, many of them old rwd Cars. Some of them cost a fortune and are very quick, also on snow!
In the first rally in the 22 championship, Brynildsen won the first one with 0,2 sec over Veiby, Marius Aasen came 3rd. Close call, where Brynildsen overtook for the win on the powerstage.
Yesterday in rd 2 it was still a close call among the top 4, with Grøndal a bit back in 5th.
On the powerstage the leading Veiby first changed a puncture, then after that he caught a rock ima right hander, broke the suspension, and stuck in the middle of the road to block. Then Larsen in another Polo took the win with 4 sec over Brynildsen, with Aasen again taking 3rd

I think he did what he should.
New stages for GG and where all the Norwegian guys done them several (hundreds?) times, so not comparable.

Yes he shut down the critics and showed everyone exactly why he is a fulltime WRC driver.... (copy+paste from Dirtfish after Monte)
Trolling aside Gryazin started in Norway in similar situation a few years back...and won. (In a Fabia though)

I don't think the Fiesta Rally2 helped him, to be ironic, but the level in Norwegian rally is extremely high this season, i actually don't think any WRC driver would have an easy drive on this one.

Since Veiby was clear winner next week in WRC Sweden we will find out how "extremely high level" it is ;)
GG did loose nearly 2min (with Factory Rally2, he was driving "Kristenssons JWRC prize car), miracles must happen if he is competitive in WRC Sweden.

I think Mikkelsen in a Skoda is above Veiby, but a Norwegian going to win there;)
But, how competative is the polo now? Any upgrades last years?
Brynhildsen has a older Fabia, and beats Aasen in a Rally2 Fabia.
At these traditional national rallies with classic stages, it is hard to beat the locals anyway.
But at snow, Veiby should be inside the top 4 in Sweden .

I was plesantly surprised with Greensmith. He was first on the road, in a car very few get to work on snow, and on stages he did not know.
I thought he would be further behind.
No one knows much on how quick the rally1 cars are on snow, if the Puma will have an edge on that surface as well.
Exiting times with new cars!

I thought he would be further behind.Plus, we don't know how hard he was pushing. He didn't need to win but he did need to get experience so had to finish. To be near the pace of the local experts was probably what he needed as part of his learning curve. We'll see how much he learned in Sweden.

Would like to see a Fiesta Rally3 in the hands of Steve Rokland.
Rented from Printsport or some other team renting them out.
with two days of testing, he would be up there with the older R5 cars.
