Experienced touring car racer James Thompson has signed for Volvo to drive in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship 2011.
"I am delighted. Volvo and Polestar has presented a very clear plan with a long term potential," said Thompson.

Would of been good to see him in the BTCC, but still good news

Probably the best deal he's been offered for a few seasons. Gets a rare works drive, stays in a series he knows well and has a great chance of winning and has a route back to where he wants to be in the WTCC. I wonder if they'll bring a 2nd car out for him at the Donington WTCC round?

i do hope so as im going to that round. will be my first ever wtcc meet. :D

Brilliant news for james, this drive is the least he deserves! It really does amaze me that he constantly has to search around for a job when he is clearly an amazing driver!
