Could this be the rider/bike combination that wins the 2011 championship? :p

That livery is hideous! And those leathers aren't too kind to the eyes either. Even the Red Ranger would be embarrassed to sport those.

Also, to answer your question: no.

About the livery I agree, the combination of red and yellow isn't very pleasing to the eye, but it kind of makes it look like one of those old Derbi 125cc bikes. Plus, Rossi adds his personal touch to his leathers and bike, unlike a lot of the other guys, and it stands out so it's fine by me.

About the second thing, never count out The Doctor plus Jeremy Burgess. If he can win the championship in his first season with Yamaha in 2004, ending a 12 year drought for the factory, then he can do anything. (The guy to do it on a Yamaha before him was Wayne Rainey in 1992). Plus the Duc was getting stronger towards the end of last year, with Stoner's multiple victories, so that means they could have figured it out by now. As for his age, he's only 31, just about entering his physical peak, so age shouldn't be holding him back either.

BUT the big question mark of course is his injured shoulder, how much has he recovered? Then his motivation, he has won 9 motorcycle world championships, how hungry is he really for more? And the biggest question of course is whether he would be able to figure that Desmosedici out, and be as competitive as Stoner on it? All this makes the 2011 season very interesting, at least the first couple of races. ;)

this should've happened years before this! Though the livery isnt as good as I'd have hoped, the move is very exciting dont you all think?

That is just puke worthy without a redeeming feature for mine.

The bike is waay too busy with stripes and logos and they've ditched Ducati red for some Marlboro orangey-red concoction, presumably to try and match up with the fluorescent yellow better. Ducati's reputation for beautiful motorcycles is shot to bits!

As for Rossi's leathers, they are worse! It looks like he has knee-high boots to a mismatched outfit and the black makes it look like his crotch finishes at his belly! I'm all for individuality but this screams cheap, like the guy who paints his car loud, wacky colours with a massive body kit. All I can say is that he's gonna want to be REAL fast.

His first comments about the bike and the year ahead were pretty interesting: http://motomatters.com/news/2011/01/11/at_last_rossi_speaks_on_his_shoulder_and.html

the "yellow" has too much green in it, such that it just is sort of yuk....and the shade he likes reminds me too much of snot in the winter time when combined with the red of ducati

BUT red and yellow in the right shades, can be stunning.

For me Carl Forgarty's Duc 916 is about the best livery that expresses Ducati. This colour scheme is reminiscient of the road going 2008 Desmosedici RR.

I don't really like the bike's livery, but Rossi's leathers are a riot.

If you are Valentino Rossi I bet you would paint your car loud, wacky colours with a massive body kit. Heck, this guy even did a parade lap with a blow up lady on his bike once.
