If I do this round it'll be with the Xsara again. However I dropped a wooden bed on my foot recently and it's a bit painful to drive. Tried it the other day and could only do a little while before it got painful.

I swore off RBR before Christmas in order to have a break, and really haven't touched it much since... :D

As soon as I finish winning this 240 minute sim of Le Mans 24 Hours I'll hit the stages.

Just pitted from 3rd (but on the heels of 1st and 2nd) on lap 9. I think the Audis will go 12 laps for stops, while 9 is the best I can manage in the Porsche 911 GT2...

Bruce D

Hehe, yeah I know the feeling. What you using, GTR2?

tannat

Hehe, yeah I know the feeling. What you using, GTR2?

Nope-the PS2 old, old game (circa 2002)... I like it-fun game...

Last time I tried I couldn't run GTR (I don't have GTR2) on my laptop. I should give it a go on this different laptop I currently have...

Bruce D
6th January 2011, 19:12
Ah I see. I did a 4 hour race at Le Mans last year starting at sunset and it was very tricky but that was GTR2 which is brilliant for endurance racing. Tried the PC version of Le Mans and didn't like it.

Getting caught out by those bumps along that straight in Chironhead I see. Funny enough they always seemed worse in a S2000 car than in a WRC car.

Not horribly confident with the H'dai after 4 stages..

Rolled three times on SS1!!!

My times are in. What an entertaining rally, such a variation of stages that really kept my interest. It was a rally of mixed fortunes I think, I went quite well in SS1 and 2 setting what are respectable times for me, then the fortunes turnedin New Bobs, the speed is there but I make too many mistakes, it`s real easy to clip a bank and spin. SS5 felt comfortable, not too bad in there but the remainder of the rally was a struggle, loads of mistakes, I guess I was trying too hard.I really like using the Citroen and I`ll stick with this car from now on.
Looking forward to the results now . . :)

Finished the rally too. Indeed It was a very Intense and fast event with a great choice of stages from Tannat.
Enjoyed every minute of It. New Bobs II and all the snow stages will probably define the winner here.
Uploading some media and submitting my times a little later!

It was going to be tought rally and haven't had time to do recce didn't help either. Driving was quite unclean at times. Luckily I didn't had major incidents, just few small offs on SS3 and SS7. Biggest issue was probably on SS4 when the clutch stayed on 50%.

Question-how often did you use the handbrake on SS5?

NeverKnow

I think I only used the handbrake only once about 1,8k into the stage at the junction.

I'm using the handbrake too much to point the car-a habit I picked up from CMR2. This is probably to my disadvantage...

I need to do some work to see if I can change this situation :(

This rally started off quite topsy turvy-with NeverKnow taking stage 1 followed by a very fast Niel J in The Citroen. LCD in the Toyota was nipping at his heels followed by the championship leader PS29. Steve Spackman followed in the second Subaru with Tannat having a difficult time adjusting to the Hyundai with three spins on the stage!

NeverKnow continued his charge on SS2, followed closely by LCD. PS29 barely finishing the stage ahead of Niel J in time, with SS and Tannat brining up the rear.

At the end of the day Neverknow made it three for three with a day ending stage win. 2nd on the final stage placed PS29 in third at the days end, and LCD finished the day 2nd. Niel J completed a good day one in 4th with 5th fastest on SS3, andTannat finally got his act together with 4th fastest on SS3 finishing the day 5th. SS finished the day 6th in the second Subaru.

Whoops! 4 stages on day 1 :D

Two important changes on the final stage of day 1;

-PS29 leapfrogs NeverKnow and LCD to take the lead.
-Tannat jumps ahead of Neil J to take 4th (just realized your name is mispelled in the results Neil-apologies :D )

Summar of day 2 action-no cahnges ot he overall leader board at the end of the day. LCD takes a stage win on SS5, but falters a bit on SS7. Neil J takes third fastest on SS7, but it does not imp[act his position significantly. Bit of back and forth between NeverKnow and PS29 with the Peugeot driver finishing the day in the lead (see next post).

Steve Spackman retired on SS5 so was assigned superally times for each stage. he rejoined the rally on day 3.

PS29 ended the final day with three stage wins and an overall victory. Neverknow took a second and two third fastest stages on the final day to seal his second place. Bit of an up/down day for LCD with a second and two fourths, but it didn't matter in the end as he rounded out the podium in the Toyota in third. Decent final day for Tannat including a second on SS9, finishing his first rally for Hyundai in fourth. A fine drive for Neil J to finish the rally fifth and Steve Spackman compleetd the rally 6th.

I'm sort of disappointed with this win as the competition was so tight on all stages except the snow ones! No - of course I'm kidding, happy to win and great to see very tight stage times on all the gravel stages. Cheers tannat for hosting :)
